Pete S Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Well maybe not brand new but it's the first time I've been sent it - you get an email from Ebay saying your bid on an item has been cancelled, anyway it tells you to click on a link to see the reason why and you have to log in with user name and password...

Kev Connellan Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 (edited) all the spoofs from claiming to be from Ebay or Paypal are very easy to spot ( they just dont look right) and remember these 2 companies will never ask you for 'sensitive information'. Also ALWAYS forward these spoofs to the corresponing address below: spoof@paypal.com spoof@ebay.com spoof@ebay.co.uk Keep safe everyone Edited November 19, 2005 by RnB Rookie
John Elias Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 On a similar theme, have received emails from "btopenworld" saying .....your password has expired, please change, then, your account suspended cos I didn't do anything ,then a couple more similar. Haven't even opened them, just moved to a folder in case required.Nothing happened to my btopenworld account of course..........W...kers!

Personally I'd just email and ask him why the postage is so high and why it wasn't mentioned. If you don't get a satisfactory answer tell him you aren't prepared to pay that amount, a cd should cost no more than $4 to post airmail. Then if threatens you with negative feedback, tell him you'll recipricate and you will also be contacting ebay for 'advice'. I got charged $12 post for a cd recently, I did pay it, it arrived in a jiffy bag with something like 2 euros postage if that, the wrong address as well. Seller was a twat so I reported him to Ebay for selling Bowie and Beatles bootlegs no longer a registered user
John Elias Posted November 20, 2005 Posted November 20, 2005 (edited) Yeah to re iterate other replies, contact him telling him that you have colleagues dealing in records etc from the states and the average postage is$4 plus say $1-1.50 packaging,in all the dealing I've done(380ish) I still had a dealer asking $20 for ONE SINGLE....knocked him down to $8,hope this helps, merry xmas.
