Haydn Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 (edited) Saw another of his Temptations cover also, fantastic. All we got in Aberdeen is an old bird playing a one-string guitar with a broken fork Edited November 28, 2011 by Haydn 1

boba Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 At any subway stop in chicago people are singing better than this dude.
Kris Holmes Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 I like the fact that I've seen these 2 guys on my trips to the US. https://sirshambling.com/artists/R/roger_ridley.html https://homeofthegroove.blogspot.com/2005/09/sugar-and-spice.html and that they are captured on this vid
Harry Crosby Posted November 29, 2011 Author Posted November 29, 2011 At any subway stop in chicago people are singing better than this dude. You are very lucky Boba, here in Peterlee we had a polish guy playing drunken sailor on an accordian, over and over again
spot Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 He's called Danny Small & there's loads of him on You Tube, you see him selling his cd's, awesome, brought a lump to my throat for 2 reasons; his excellent singing & the fact that he has to sing for his supper, did you notice how respectful & courteous people were to him , here they'd have robbed & beaten him over here. Take care, be safe & remember," One day it could be you but without the voice", Spot.
Guest gordon russell Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 (edited) AWESOME...........DANNY SMALL........as pete says moving............ Edited November 29, 2011 by gordon russell

Guest Nick Harrison Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 Yet more footage of the current black america struggle made worse by those old K-Tel Soul covers.
Mike Lofthouse Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 You are very lucky Boba, here in Peterlee we had a polish guy playing drunken sailor on an accordian, over and over again Always thought Peterlee was the cultural wasteland of the NE Harry - I'll have stop driving by on the A19 and check it out :o)
Kris Holmes Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 That is a fantastic video. Where did it come from? The project is called "Playing For Change" you can search for that on youtube & come up with the other songs they've done. You can also buy the CD & DVD from Amazon. Some of it's a bit corny, but some of it is very cool too.
soulpaul0 Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 good job he's not on the london tube as i would keep missing the next train just to listen to one more song.
Mark S Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7yfZHbwa5oE&feature=related Just amazing . I dont know how people can walk past though without even a glance .
boba Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 i think everyone lives in some sort of alternate reality from me, this sounds like an average subway performance to me
Mike Lofthouse Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 i think everyone lives in some sort of alternate reality from me, this sounds like an average subway performance to me Maybe an alternate country Bob?
boba Posted December 1, 2011 Posted December 1, 2011 I apologize if I offended anyone, I'm not trying to. I just don't understand what's going on in this thread.
Mark S Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 The only subway in Stockport is a butty shop . 1
Casper Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 Harry thats made my day mate ! that guy sings from the heart ... love it , what a great start to the day pete n' susan ktf
Dave Rimmer Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 I apologize if I offended anyone, I'm not trying to. I just don't understand what's going on in this thread. It's simple really. There is nothing like this in the UK. The Underground is a shitty souless place that you use when you have to, and leave as quickly as possible. Guess we just like to hear black guys singing !
Chalky Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 No t on the subway and not soul but there is a rock n roll group who busk in Chesterfield who are really good, always draw a large crowd.
Mike Lofthouse Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 No t on the subway and not soul but there is a rock n roll group who busk in Chesterfield who are really good, always draw a large crowd. A twisted steeple draws a large crowd in Chesterfield 1
lorchand Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 (edited) Folks like Danny thrill me. It's old school. It's from the heart and its soul stirring. He cracks me up, doing the dance routines sitting down, especially the Temptation's walk! Sing on people, never stop. Some folks might not get it, but Danny is singing from life's experiences and if you were ever down and out, have ever been deeply and crazy in love, you can feel Danny. KevH Posted December 3, 2011 Posted December 3, 2011 We just don't get the buskers like this in the UK as far as i know.Maybe in the States its become an everday occurence,so people get used to it.
spot Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 Anything draws a large crowd in Chesterfield, specially if you twist your steeple, Ouch!! Think you can get a cream for it though. Take care, be safe & remember," More than 2 twists of a Steeple is classed as playing with it & most likely Illegal", Spot.
Pete Eccles Posted December 13, 2011 Posted December 13, 2011 (edited) Not bad for UK buskers, appear mainly darn sarf, loads on youtube Edited December 13, 2011 by Pete60 1
