what?

I think he's implying your post re dealer websites or guides might have been a bit Victor Meldrewesque. He's new to SS and probably chuffed to be able to converse online with like-minded individuals. As Pete has taken the time to answer him its probably more beneficial to him.

i will hang on to the records then, selling NF porter on my dads behalf however.

it probably is easier to look online, but much better been able to talk to other people and get opinions, isn't that what a forum is?

manners? you want me to thankyou or something? or because i didn't say please.

I think it's advisable for posters to always show good manners when asking for help or advice on a forum such as this. Saying please and thank you costs nothing, as someone said above, but it is definitely going to increase your chances of a positive response.

No need to be off with someone who's been on here a hell of a long time, he's right anyway, if you go to www.popsike.com and put the details in, it'll show you the prices that the item has been sold for along with pictures of said item. People will always be happy to help but not if you get arsey with them. Especially after 12 posts.

to be fair his comment wasn't helpful.

if he had advised me of certain sites instead of thinking he's a know it all would have been fine.

also looking through the forums not many people say please etc when asking questions.

whats posts got to do with anything? this a forum based on posts?

i didn't know there were such sites, im not on the net that much.

i do say thankyou, as you can see earlier on. i said cheers to someone who helped. always use manners when due.

let's start again shall we.

i though he was being arsey with me, which got my back up. don't know if he was, but thats how it came across.

but the comment about manners wasn't justified at all. i always say thankyou.

im happy to let it rest, its daft.

Whether someone has good manners or not is something other people will judge - rather than something a person judges themselves. It's about how polite and well-mannered other people think someone else is.

I think you will find most users of this forum are very friendly and helpful and would also expect a 'please' and 'thank you' if someone is asking for help.

Here is your original post - not a please or thank you in there

Are these originals or pressings? what they worth? just want some information really.

I apologise.

I do have a short temper, i will reign it in. :hypocrite:

I signed up to get help and advice, that is all. Didn't want to get into an arguement, especially over the internet!

So i apologise and hope we can move on.

Nobody's made a comment since he apologised, are you reading it backwards or something?

No? Dave said TRUST ME BOY! THERE NOTHING WRONG WITH HAVING AND USING POLITNES.

I don't care what he said after there was no need for him to have a say after he had apologised, just like there was no need for most of those who commented to pile in like they did. My comment was made to put others off having a dig more than anything.

Neither was there any need for John (Dancingcollector) to say go and look elsewhere, not something I would encourage when trying to get new blood on the scene and more importantly get more people participating on this forum....don't care if it is a fiver or £2k, people are free to ask what they want. Would most of those who felt the need to have a go piled in like they did if it was an older more experienced member of this forum? I doubt it very much. There are plenty who don't say please when asking a question but I don't see then hauled over the coals like lee ham has.

He did thank you for your input and probably replied as others would have done to John's comment to go and look elsewhere.

Now again unless any replies to the original question think we should all move on.

I will add though Leeham you do need to make any future scans somewhat smaller.

Chalky, quote " Neither was there any need for John (Dancingcollector) to say go and look elsewhere * wrong

I was actually trying to be helpful, but looking back I can see how it came across a little bit arrogant, that I am not,not in the slightest.

i love seeing young/new blood on our ageing scene, there was plenty at radcliffe on Saturday, thought it was brilliant!

I was surprised at the silly comment made in response but there ya go,went over my head!!!!

keep the faith, John Elias

I know you are not arrogant John, I was implying you were but it was maybe how what you said was or could have been perceived, written word not the often put across how it sounds. He is young and doesn't know the ropes so maybe an allowance could be made from older more experienced members for younger members?
