Citizen P Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Original £60 -100 depends on Cond Boot £10-20 Stand corrected of course hope ya good Billy N x I picked one up a coupla years back-Very cheap and assumed it was a boot. I asked the question on here and was very surprised to see Mr. Manship inform me (us) that it was issued on 2 labels Golden Gate and Down to Earth, and although booted on Down To Earth, it was not booted on Golden Gate. RESULT- unless anybody knows different ATB Tony
paultp Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I put a mint- copy up for sale the other day for 80 Disappeared onto page 3 now:
Ady Potts Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 What a good little record, must start playing this again Spotting the (old) DOWN TO EARTH boot is pretty easy as it was pressed on brittle styrene, with a stuck on label. Original is good quality vinyl with a moulded on label, see picture below. It wasn't booted on GOLDEN GATE.
KevH Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 (edited) As far as i'm aware they came out almost at the same time. Both originals ?,Golden Gate rarer.Down to Earth ones were/are around in numbers.Down to Earth boot? Not got bootleg guide. Been slipping this into spots recently,on Golden Gate.Forgotten by some,Mecca classic. Edited November 22, 2011 by KevH
Guest Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 They were both pressed from the same stampers, as I recall? I've had both and sold them on here fairly easily...great track. Burgess Gardner strikes again!

Theothertosspot Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I have a copy on Golden Gate (not sure if boot or not, came in a collection). The backing track is used on another record (not soul), can't think of it at the moment and not sure which was first, anyone help? TOTP
Amsterdam Russ Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Dreadful earache of a record.Thought it was so bad I gave my copy away to a mate. It's almost as painful to listen to as The Emotions "I can't stand no more heartaches"/"You better get pushed to it" on Brainstorm!
Windlesoul Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Sorry Russell, horses for courses but I must disagree, bit of a 'Nowhere to run' rip-off it may be but its a genuinely fantastic record, the oldie-but-goodie type that could easily get thrashed out again get revived and still be respected! Probably why it went in a couple of hours of me posting my copy for sale last night....( I needed the money)
Amsterdam Russ Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Agreed, Mark. Horses for courses. We can't all like the same things. But at least now you've managed to get rid of it

It's almost as painful to listen to as The Emotions "I can't stand no more heartaches"/"You better get pushed to it" on Brainstorm! You're perfectly entitled to your opinion Russell. But to put this in the same breath as "heartaches",is beyond me. Anymore dreadful records to give away? Send em to me..
Amsterdam Russ Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 As you say Kev, I'm perfectly entitled to my opinion. Neither are great, but both are definitely grating.
Guest Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 yes excellent track, one for my box, early casino track john vincent, Yes, it's a favorite of mine, great Chicago Northern Soul!
