Wiganer1
Can I have first shout on Mike Williams??? === hi blake wont be selling like that mate had two stints at collecting this lot once when i was at school asking all the kids if their mums and dads had any old labels that were red and had atlantic on them... got upto about 150 of them and sold them all in a fit of rage to rudzi once,,,took em all over in a old kellogs cornflakes box..(not the packet) then about 7 yrs ago got really pisssed of with northern etc and started to collect these with a vengeance and only missing a handful some of the hardest to pick up were the bobby darins who had 12 releases on the label, art freeman. vala regan and barbara lewis i picked up quite easy the elusive one however is wilson picketts- that kind of love - 584173 never seen it rumoured not to exist but is in all the discographies... ref mike williams - lonely soldier cant see why people like this one tho... best surprise for me was 'soul surviviors - mama soul' which i immediately started playing about 3 yrs ago - remembering janine asking what that 60s pop thing was u played but now it started to creep up in price and getting noticed on ebay shouldnt be too hard to pick up.. PICKETT, WILSON ATLANTIC 584173 THAT KIND OF LOVE / I'VE COME A LONG WAY === hey thats gr8 ,,had a feeling it would (wanna sell?) i think with some of the Atlantic s they are just a bit obscure rather than rare. Bobby Darin-s - the lady came from baltimore took me ages to find ..and billy jo royale - downby the boondocks -584002 both crap records by the way. 584200 is the original version of mr bojangles by jerry jeff williams a real nice tune and rare also there some real one offs interms of 'why would you wanna go into a studio and record that?' like pig snoots and theme from rosemarys baby but it was a very enjoyable couple of year s collecting these 45s Link to comment Social source share

Guest Matt Male
its a nice feeling, cant explain it really - its justa feeling anyone else like this or is it just me? I can understand it. I've never felt this way about 45s, usually only buy what i like there, but i have collected Daredevil marvel comics almost to completion, then stupidly sold all the earliest 60s ones to buy a new PC. In my experience mate selling collections is never a good idea, as you say yourself i think you have to consider how you'll feel a few years down the line and if you'll just end up collecting them agaian. We've already discussed this mate and you know what i think about selling up so i'll say no more. All the best Matt Link to comment Social source share
Paul McKay
Just played the Wilson Pickett 45 mentioned earlier and there's quite a noticeable drop in volume about a third of the way through. Maybe this fault caused the 45 to not actually make the shops. The above is a nice uptempo track whilst the flip is great Deep! Link to comment Social source share
