Pete S Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I know this was recorded in 75 and pressed in the late 90's but I can't find many traces of copies for sale, none on popsike, so my inevitable question, how much??
Pete S Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Looking at old Soul Source sales I found 20 25 30 50 have to admit, I've never seen this before and I've seen most of 'em
Geeselad Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 (edited) Les hare had one last year for 25, they never seemed to be around in vast quanitiies at the time, wonder how many were pressed? wasnt the pressing something to do with levine? Edited November 15, 2011 by geeselad

Levine did them. Few 100s maybe. Fantastic track that sadly suffers from the "Ian Levine" stigma. I recall the flip being a rather dull IL drum computer instrumental? 1

Ernie Andrews Posted November 17, 2011 Posted November 17, 2011 According to Ian L only 200 were pressed! That makes it pretty rare in the scheme of things! Wouldnt mind the original Pye acetate!
Steve G Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 There were three Pye acetates. I have one don't know where the other two are?

Chalky Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 I was told (by Levine I think) 40 were pressed so anything between 3 and a few hundred depending on who you believe....
Dave Pinch Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 either way even this chi city thingummy never shows up for sale dave
Pete S Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 Asked Ian yesterday and he said Exactly 100. I swear. Then Damont broke the plates so there could never be any more. Ralph Tee had them done and there were only ever exactly 100 copies. Not one more.
Ernie Andrews Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 so therefore it is bloody rare in the scheme of things! Rarer than most of the bloody Shrine records!
Wiggyflat Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 Got mine from Kev Roberts....paid about £25 I think last year.Never know he might have a box of them
Ncfc Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Nigel Parker must of had an acetate as he was playing it late 80s.Could be the 3rd copy
Pete S Posted November 26, 2011 Author Posted November 26, 2011 Doubt it if their is only a hundred! So the guy who made them tells me there is only a hundred but you don't believe me or him. What else can I do apart from torture him and get a written confession in his own blood?
Ernie Andrews Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 (edited) No Pete Youve misunderstood - Most copies (Of the hundred count) are probably in peoples collections therefore it would be pretty strange if Kev Roberts had a box of them! Thats what I meant! I now see why youve replied - If I had quoted Wiggyflat then you wouldnt have replied! I am in agreement with you & as I said in the scheme of things its therefore pretty rare! You never know it might become as popular as the Little Anthony and I can sell it for an inflated price (Not!) Edited November 26, 2011 by Ernie Andrews

Got nothing to do with who replied, if anyone questioned something which I believe to be the truth I'd reply, wouldn't you?
Ernie Andrews Posted November 26, 2011 Posted November 26, 2011 Yes Pete I agree -It was my fault for not quoting the previous post- If I had quoted Wiggys post it would have read different - I wasnt questioning your quote about the 100 I was questioning Wiggy that if most were in collections the chance of KR having a box of them would be pretty slim!
