Guest Matt Male Posted November 17, 2005 Posted November 17, 2005 I would have said Brian Rae twenty years ago, but i thought this thread was Best Oldies DJ 2005. I thought Brian didn't have his records anymore?

Dave Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 ==== without question in my opinion the best oldies dj of all time is BRIAN RAE and the man is a great bloke too and an ultimate proffessional This has got to be a wind up, right? Is there some hitherto unknown professional skill to playing the same 40 tracks from CD?
Guest vinylvixen Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Oh Bugger......... my cover's blown yep, who else is cheesey enough to call themselves that And Mark Freeman, ladies and gentlemen, did a very mean oldies set when he graced the decks at These Old Shoes Jo=== hey jo didnt know vynilvixen was u regards mark freeman
Guest vinylvixen Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I didnt' notice whether it was vinyl or CD when Brian followed me at Hemsby....I was too busy falling off the stage..could the soul police confirm whether it's vinyl or CD.... JoI would have said Brian Rae twenty years ago, but i thought this thread was Best Oldies DJ 2005. I thought Brian didn't have his records anymore?
Guest Chris Waterman Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I have booked Brian Rae seven times in the last two years and not a CD player insight. Top man, nice bloke and gets my vote along with Blue Max
Dave Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 I have booked Brian Rae seven times in the last two years and not a CD player insight. Yes Chris, but was that his choice.... or yours?
jonbuck Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 (edited) I think Rob Messer is a fabulous oldies DJ, never fails to get me dancing. He has some fabulous sounds and is not given the DJ time he deserves.Annie Rob is a good Bloke, & a good DJ, & yes he must go down as a good Oldies DJ, in fact last time I saw Rob Messer was @ The Dome & his first record in his set was a Classic Oldie, in fact it could have been the oldest record I have ever heard @ a Northern Do ...."Ain't Nobody Here But Us Chickens" Louise Jordan I think & from a year after my birth 1957....Rob does know how to get the crowd going, & they certainly moved to this one.... 2 DJ's who for me are @ The Top when good Oldies are the order of the day are... Steve Whittle & Brian Rae~when playing Vinyl~ Jon Buck Edited November 19, 2005 by jonbuck
sister dawn Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Rick Scott for the past as he has one of the best oldies collection ever, but doesn't play them out anymore since he joined the "darkside" ... present 2005 for me has to be Dougie Hall and Ian Gee collectively each with their own individual style.... and for 2006/7 its gonna be me
Guest Chris Waterman Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Yes Chris, but was that his choice.... or yours? Dave The first time he asked and I said don't have one and everytime since he has turned up with 45's
soulAdequateNP Posted November 18, 2005 Posted November 18, 2005 Well...that is a title to which I aspire
Dave Posted November 19, 2005 Posted November 19, 2005 Dave The first time he asked and I said don't have one and everytime since he has turned up with 45's Good for you mate. Pity thet don't tell him that in some other places IMHO!
