Thanks.

Thanks for the above studio playlistings and your valued acknowledgments as usual Mr T. Your voice is not wasted - great to learn of the Cold Blood Express outfit splitting and others forming Lanier and Co (Larc and Waylo). Loved the totally undiscovered house clearence of Timmy (Carr) and the Emperers accetate - that's got to be some find, and some tune for the full on "Northern Heads". Brass Fever worth a mention too, also Tony Talent/The Coalitions.............and played from your own original sourced vinyl. Is the Gospel Funtion the bands real name or not. But for rawness and hard edged "Ghetto Funk" its got to be Double O Demingo's 3rd outing on this Cincinnati Label - Split Records (1029) from 1973 "Colour One Tear Black". Have you come across or heard there other Split recordings (1027) from 1971 "Storm Warning" and Split (1028) from 1972 "The Crawl", either any good. Whilst in Ohio Dave have you any tales or spent time with Albert Washington or Cleveland Robinson, I am sure these "two" must be the most recorded male vocalist in Cleveland and knew there way around the local labels. Thanks. Nikolas.

Hi Nick

Lotsa questions there, so lets see...

Gospel Funtion is a C/U, it's a very rare 45 outta the deep south.

Got all the Double O's recordings think their a very talented group for such a small output.

Always struggled to find people in Cleveland, it's not got the same tight music community as many other cities.

Thanks for all the kind words

Dave

Hi John

There is a difference in the run out info

long version has P-010, Quarter turn 551 (A SIDE), P-011, Quarter turn, something I can't read (B SIDE)

Short version has P-010, Quarter turn Linx (A SIDE), P-011, Quarter turn Linx (B SIDE)

Agree on the Timmy Carr - I walked into the studio as Dave was playing it and it floored me - would be a floorpacker in any era from the Torch to today! And as for the Coalitions Dave had to use my copy as his hadn't arrived  ...released today on Soul Junction 7".

Hope your hangovers cleared Dave!

As always a big thanks for your assistance with the show Jerry. I feel fine, it's the others that I think still feel a bit shabby, they all went for it, including Leon, who arrived after the Riverside.

Regards the Timmy Carr - Pete Smith has recently opened a topic/thread on this "Got No Time" etc.... acetate today in the Look At Yer Box section. Could well be of interest. .

Thanks.
