Just seen a record by the Sham-ettes on MGM called 'He'll come back'

Anyone know if this is the same track as Sylvia Shamwell released, and if so is there a connection (based on the 'Sham' part of each name???)

Regards

Mace.

who wrote/published the sham-ettes track mace, assuming you have seen scan or the copy itself? i've got the sylvia shemwell (on philips, great record too i reckon) and can compare to save you looking for your copy if you like.

Have a look at this:

...so there's a Sam the Sham connection, but IMHO the Gold Dust group are completely different, although I have seen another site which assumes there's only one...

Hippo.

Certainly no connection to Sylvia Shemwell then, who was I'm sure related to Dionne Warwick & was a member of the Sweet Inspirations. Agree on the Philips track Dan great record

She certainly was. Recall reading she was Judy Clays sister

She'll Come Back got spins mid 80's from Guy and bit late from myself, not sure if I bought his copy :)

Sham-ettes was on ebay and was flipside Dan, so no idea who credited to.

Love this, think I first heard it from Phil Shields in Belfast couple of years ago

Sylvia and Judy Clay are indeed sisters, and adopted sisters to the Warwicks (yes I did have to look it up, old issue of 'In the Basement' with great interview with Dee Dee Warwick in it  )

Did you ever get an answer to this question? I'd be interested to know about that possible connection as well.
