The Tempest Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 (edited) The guys scored just one album LIVIN HIGH OFF THE GOODNESS OF YOUR LOVE under the powerhouse sound production of Holland-Dozier-Holland trio. Released in 1971 on Invictus label "Trapped in a love" is a collector item on the rare soul scene and can be easily spinned both on northern & modern soul dancefloors . phillyDaveG Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 Err, why should it be? There are thousands of none LP 45s out there, this is just another one. PS. Great LP though.
Guest Matt Male Posted November 5, 2011 Posted November 5, 2011 (edited) Is 'I Shall Not Be Moved' on it? That's much better than 'Trapped In A Love' in my opinion. Just realised, if it's their HDH stuff then it probably is. Edited November 5, 2011 by Matt Male

John Benson Posted November 7, 2011 Posted November 7, 2011 Also "Trapped in a love" was suspected to be the missing release on UK Invictus, but never to my knowledge confirmed or otherwise.
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 Innvictus 9083 -The Barrino Brothers -Trapped In Love/When Love Was A Child - Jan-1971. From the Invictus discography
boba Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I was just listening to a stack of invictus singles and came to the conclusion that i hate the chairmen of the board, their records are all awful. The barrino bros are cool though.

Even if you don't like the tracks with General Johnson singing, how could you not enjoy those that Danny Woods fronted? COTB awful? Sorry, but I'm not having that, oh no no no....
Kris Holmes Posted November 12, 2011 Posted November 12, 2011 I dig Chairmen of the Board too, what do you find so awful about them? 1

Even if you don't like the tracks with General Johnson singing, how could you not enjoy those that Danny Woods fronted? COTB awful? Sorry, but I'm not having that, oh no no no.... general johnson is a great singer, the songs just suck and aren't well written such i would want to listen to them. i only like their two hits dangling on a string and give me just a little more time. actually there are a ton of invictus singles (not just COTB) and despite the holland-dozier-holland a large percentage of them aren't very good. a lot of them sound like they were trying too hard to cross over pop.
Northern Soul Uk Posted November 13, 2011 Posted November 13, 2011 It's spooky how much the 'Barrino's sound so much like 'COTB'? but without GJ, and on the same label too? 1
