Louis Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 i have seen yellow and orange, i am sure there are more. which is the first? i have seen yellow and orange, i am sure there are more. which is the first? The first one (Blowing my mind to pieces) I bought was the yellow pressing. Years later I got the proper one and think it is gold (or orangey, if thats a word). So it could be the orangey gold first, then the yellow pressing. Brilliant record. happy memories (highland room first time heard it for me). I'll try and find it and let you know. Louis
Guest Andy Kempster Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 that would be great, aiming to buy one end of month (yes i know its only the first but the monthly allowance goes so quickly these days, already done this months) always prefer to make sure i get the first issue where i can
Louis Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Gave you duff info, after looking through my boxes the original is yellow with two hands clasped at the top of Trans, whereas the yellow boot just has the writing Trans records (for some reason I was thinking of Lenis guess Just ask me (same era) as the boot was orange and the original gold Doh!) HTH's Louis
sir cumference Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 Seem to remember an orange one with the hands on, same as the yellow one.
Guest Andy Kempster Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 what about the yellow Trans without hands?
Guest Andy Kempster Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 so...... my impression so far orange trans american with hands = original yellow trans american with hands = legit 2nd press yellow trans without hands = boot the plot thickens
Guest Paul Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 what about the yellow Trans without hands? Hell Andy, I think we discussed this on soulsource before and my suggestion was that it may have been a reissue rather than a pirate because it used the original stampers (or at least new stampers made from the original positives). It's just a possibility and may never be established one way or another. Paul
Trev Thomas Posted November 1, 2011 Posted November 1, 2011 yellow trans-american (with hands) ...first press orange trans-american (with hands)...2nd press
Guest giant Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 what about the yellow Trans without hands? 100% boot
Kjw Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 I thought there were 2 yellow copies on Trans American - one is the original first press with a distinct matrix markings and the other is a bootleg. Orange press came second. Thought the Trans Am copies were also bootlegs. So 4 copies in all.
