Ady Croasdell Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Furys So Tuff/Over You (Pains In My Heart) 005 Wonder what 117 is?
Denbo Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Looking good folks. Still need No. 4 100 to 103 inclusive and 106 to 110 inclusive And any others after 118 if there are any?
Guest Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 114 The Furys - "Another fella" One of my all-time favourite mid-6Ts big production mid to uptempo dancers...ever! Faultless lead and backing vocals. Heartbreaking lyric. A string section that swoops and soars majestically. Brass topping off breaks. A chopping guitar...drum rolls...the lot! If anyone has a WD then I'm your man!

Having had one 'go astray' in the Post!!!
boba Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 Looking good folks. Still need No. 4 100 to 103 inclusive and 106 to 110 inclusive And any others after 118 if there are any? I doubt there's a 100-103 given that there's a 1, 2, and 3. They probably switched to a new numbering system at that point. I can't explain the anomaly of the "5" listing for the furys though.
Guest Posted October 31, 2011 Posted October 31, 2011 And I just need an issue. Having had one 'go astray' in the Post!!! Ouch! Please also note the take used for the French Columbia EP is a different mix and not as full and thunderous as the US original.
Denbo Posted October 31, 2011 Author Posted October 31, 2011 Anybody got A and B side scans of the following on Mack IV? 1/2 The Lions - "No one (no one but you) / Giggles" 3/4 Frankie Lucas - "So long / Unknown" 3 Little Eddie Love - "There is a flame / Come running to me baby"

Goldsoul Posted November 2, 2011 Posted November 2, 2011 The label was owned by my good friend James McEachin, who after a spell in the record business became a successful actor. I will email him and ask if he has a full discog. One or two of you may have net him at SoultripUSA 2004. I hooked him together with Fred 'Keymen' Smith. The pair had not worked together since The Furys- I'm Satisfied With You in 1966.

Denbo Posted November 3, 2011 Author Posted November 3, 2011 I think it came both ways It did. I've seen both. The question is, why would an American 45rpm release have a small hole? I've seen the small holes for Jukebox Ep's on American releases. But why would they do them on singles? When 45rpm singles were designed in America with large holes, specifically for Jukeboxes? Or have I got that wrong?
Ernie Andrews Posted November 3, 2011 Posted November 3, 2011 The Lions- Girl of the world - Really love this! I Paid quite a bit for it- One was sold on here for what I thought was an absolute bargain at 50 quid

boba Posted November 6, 2011 Posted November 6, 2011 sorry for the delay on this. anyways, it looks like there's two catalog numbers for each release, the one on the left and the one on the right, and they only started using the one on the right later
Denbo Posted November 7, 2011 Author Posted November 7, 2011 Thanks boba, that's really helpful. I'd really love to see scans of both sides of the Little Eddie Love record now. Can somebody please help?
