Mike Lofthouse Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Can anyone tell me if the Loleatta Holloway LP - Loleatta on US GRC was ever re-issued Thanks She had two albums released called 'Loleatta'. The GRC 'distributed' one was on 'Aware' from '73 and inc. 'Mother Of Shame'. The other was on Goldmine(Salsoul) from '76 inc Dreamin'
Ian Dewhirst Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Can anyone tell me if the Loleatta Holloway LP - Loleatta on US GRC was ever re-issued Thanks Not re-released as such but I'm pretty sure I've a Ace/Kent Loleatta anthology which includes all the GRC stuff. In fact here it is.... https://www.cduniverse.com/search/xx/music/pid/3872586/a/Hotlanta+Soul+Of+Loleatta+Holloway.htm Ian D

The other was on Goldmine(Salsoul) from '76 inc Dreamin' Thanks Mike It's the 1973 one on Aware that I meant. The reason I asked is because I bought a mint sealed copy with a promo strip on the front listing all the titles etc. Usually when I've seen these strips they have been pasted over the cover but this one is printed on as part of the actual cover. I've searched through the internet and can't see any reference to it being re-issued but just wanted to make sure.

I think it is OK - I have a copy of the John Edwards with it printed - bought it sealed and when opened was a white label promo - it is no AA 2005 two along from Loleatta AA 2003. I think it will be a pucker original pressing.
Kjw Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Thanks guys Like Ady said, I just thought it a bit strange for an early 70's release
Garethx Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 My copy of this album is as described. The labels state "Promotional: Mixed For Airplay". I've had it for over twenty years so before that spate of lookalike 70s indemanders such as Alice Clark (Mainstream) and so on.
John Benson Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I've got her other LP on Aware, "Cry to me" - AA 2008 That's a promo also, with the printed programming guide along the bottom like the one shown above. So I think you can rest assured it's going to be OK when it arrives!
phillyDaveG Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 The other was on Goldmine(Salsoul) from '76 inc Dreamin' You mean Gold Mind of course. Not that Goldmine wouldn't have minded putting it out ;)

Steve G Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I think they did those programming guides purely to make it easy for dumb old DJs. :
