Ever been suprised to find out a tune was in fact a cover of a better known tune?

Saw this on latest Shifty list

Amazon Copper n Brass Does anybody know

now always liked this old mecca tune, had that sort of carolina sort of feel to it (insert poppy) and found it enjoyable on the ears

a while back was flicking through the channels and was open jawed to see Chicago singing a very similar version live, a quick google and yes it turns out that was a hit by them, now of course it shouldn't make that much difference as a good tune is just that, but ......

had any similar suprises

Yes.....my mum singing along to April Stevens "Wanting You" its from an old musical and she knew every word. This was about 1974!! BH
