How Do I Find It?: 30 mins from Jkt 13, M1; 30 mins from London Kings Cross & a 1 min straight walk from the BR station; 30 mins from London and Peterborough by car, 2 mins from Jkt 9, A1(M); Hall located in the centre of Letchworth, across from the cinema DJ Line-Up: The regular crew, ‘The Usual Suspects’ of Soul Sam, Taffy, Nathan, TheBigO, Hammie, Fingers, Ab, Leon and The O’Hara’s are joined by top guests (see below) each event. Guests in the past have included Ginger Taylor, Mick H, Dave Rimmer, Nick & Dawn Brown, Dave Flynn, Mark Bicknell, Dave Rimmer, Terry Jones, Dave Flemming, Andy Rix to name but a few. Music Policy: We have 3 rooms to cater for all tastes and divided as follows: The Main Hall: Northern Soul – Current Monsters, Forgotten Oldies, 6T’s Newies and the best of Modern/Crossover anthems. The Ghetto! (It’s A Family Affair) – The very best in Modern and Crossover Soul with the accent of QUALITY SOUL. The Mojo Room! (The Little Room With The BIG Sound) – Rockin’ R&B and Rhythm ‘N’ Soul in the SG6 Coffee Bar area for that authentic ‘basement club’ feel. What Else?: We attract 400+ every time and have been getting rave reviews from all who attend, dancers and DJ’s alike! Entry is £6 adv. We have many record/merchandise dealers, a bar in all rooms, loads of free parking to cater for everyone, doors open 8pm until 2am. Free membership available from the email address as before. No entry after 11.30pm unless you have tickets (on you or reserved) or any valid soul club membership card (keeps the local pub scum out!!) 2004 Dates & Guests: Friday 16th January – THE BIG RARE SOUL REVUE! ‘The Usual Suspects’ are joined by Vic Ranger in The Mojo Room and by BUTCH & MICK SMITH, not only in the Main Hall but also, for the first time ever, upstairs in The Ghetto! to spin an exclusive Modern/Crossover set!!!! Interest in this night is huge so get your tickets before setting off! Awesome night expected. Friday 19th March – THE USUAL SUSPECT’S SPECIAL: Dave Welding is our special guest for this evening upstairs in The Ghetto! and Main Hall, joining him will be Gene Robertson and Mr Mischief in the Main Hall, 2 up and coming DJ’s being given their break at the Plinston. The Usual Suspects will be getting the chance to show off their vast array of tip top toons, both known and unknown, in all 3 rooms. Friday 7th May – NORTHERN SOUL @ THE PLINSTON! Back to our regular format with special guest Alan Handscombe guesting in both The Main Hall and The Mojo, and others TBC. Friday 2nd July – NORTHERN SOUL @ THE PLINSTON! With special guest Roger Banks in both the Main Hall and The Mojo! And others tbc. Friday 3rd September – 2ND ANNIVERSARY PARTY MADNESS – Our 2nd Anniversary celebration with a TOP TOP guest DJ line-up tbc, free anniversary patch to all, free raffle with top prizes, cash prize dance comp and that unique atmosphere that made our 1st anniversary such a massive success! DO NOT MISS THIS! Friday 5th November – BONFIRE NIGHT SOUL EXPLOSION! Top guest tbc and a night of all that is rare and soulful with a few fun things thrown in for good measure.
