Guest Nick Harrison Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 (edited) Was CDKEND 222 the only one to be released as part of the Masterpieces of the M/S series. Pressed and released in 2003 also available in vinyl - I would assume . Cracking sleeve notes as normal for a Ace/Kent product. Edited October 15, 2011 by Nick Harrison
boba Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 volume 2 came out I think in 2009. There is a sick CD cover, a color photo of towanna and the total destruction dressed as a biker gang and riding choppers, it's awesome.

The photos and writing credits give it away...

I'm guessing there's an enclave in California somewhere and these are the all-American descendants of the original settlers? Volume 3 is out at the end of November, I'm writing the notes today! Ady 1
Mister Fish Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 (edited) Ady, were these CD only or is there some vinyl? Edited October 18, 2011 by Mister Fish

Guest Nick Harrison Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 (edited) Great and who is the foxy cover girl sat in a rather sir - jestive manner but rather appropriate "buy me" position on CD 3 And thanks for the track listings. Sparks and Scott - were Barry and Steve plugging this on Soul People. . Yours in support. Nikolas. But the Darrow Fletcher is a real present day find/recording. Adds male vocals with a "top beef cut" to other versions that lacked direction. Sorry Breakwater and GQ etc. Thanks and so glad I stayed soulfull to capture it Ady . Nikolas. Guest Nick Harrison Posted October 19, 2011 Posted October 19, 2011 I didn't get the Darrow reference, he ain't on here! Please do correct me if I am of the misunderstanding Ady that the Darrow Fletcher and Rose Batiste, are currently being rumoured as forthcoming Kent/Ace single release's. Or was it Acid Jazz or even Hit And Run . Thanks Nikolas.

Ady there are a few cities in the US that have a lot of Armenians but LA has the biggest population by far. there is some population in Detroit, Westbound was run by Armenians (most notoriously Armen Boladian).

Bob, There are a decent amount of Armenians in New England. I vaguely remember a big R&B collector from there named George Moonigian (sp?). Barry Tashian (of the Remains and many other recordings) is the best musician of Armenian ancestry that I know about. There's an LP by a group of older teens that attended a camp for kids of Armenian ancestry called the Hye Stars. I think it's all rock though. I think the band members were from the Chicago area. - George Edited October 20, 2011 by George G

We want to create some demand first and give the record a good run out. I'm sorry I've never heard of those labels
Chris Anderton Posted October 21, 2011 Posted October 21, 2011 Loved the last 2 "Masterpieces" CDs Ady, absolute top drawer. Chris
