Well nothing new here, but if you live in the Wigan area and fancy being on TV, PM us and we'll put you in touch with the programme makers.

A bit short notice I know, but they are filming Sunday night and all day Monday.

The episode being shot, is about the town including the inevitable reference to Station Rd, hence the request for two couples to show out a couple of moves!

Thanks,

Kev@Goldsoul

Just what the scene needs, TV of people in their 50's demonstrating dance moves from their teen years for the world to see. Why can't you get some younger dancers to at least put some positive perspective in place ?

I think you should have locked this thread.. The contact details were all thats needed..

You aint gonna get no sense from banjo boy and his mates.....

So you think this is a good thing then ?

TV shows have never presented the scene in any other way than embarassing, with the exception maybe of This England.

Banjo or his mate, not sure which I wnt to be.

:hatsoff2: HI ALL When people talk about putting together a film or a play about the casino, how come they never consult with the record dealers of the day who where just as much a part of the Casino, on the GRANADA program the film crew spent a lot of time shooting the record sales in the bar area, but apart for less than 1 minute appears in the final program, this includes my record box, why do they not recognize the stalwarts of the scene? DAVE

Mike- You can close the thread. As usual, the same brawling drunks going through the revolving door in order to hijack the thread, continue to turn others off.

Thanks to the folks who got in touch...yer contact details have been passed to the production company.

it always happens this way

be it wigan retro or cutting edge music videos requests or whatever

end of day members get informed, those who are interested will follow it up

those who just want to pass on their view will do

just way things go imo

I think one of the best of these type of things was the one on that Mark Radcliffe programme on Granada in the early 90's, they did a very good retro piece but then bought it slap bang up to date by interviewing RS and showing footage of a then current allnighter (Blackburn I think) so if producers weren't so backward looking they could probably get a decent feature done - having said that, if you've only got 3 minutes to discuss Northern Soul on tv, it's inevitable that it will concentrate on it's perceived peak period.

You mean me Kev.? Brawling drunk? I asked a question with relevance.Couples - as in boy/girl dancing in the USA to soul music.Very different from our dance scene in the UK.Just wondered if there was a shift in style.

Sorry to have bothered you.
