Has anyone else had dealings with this seller - rpg_0915

His name is Les Harris from Texas

I recently bought a record from him through Ebay that was listed as NM but was only VG at best

Had difficulty in getting a refund from him even though he acknowledged getting the record back

Looking at his feedback he's done this a few times before

Quote from his sales blurb....."45s of this era Almost 40 years old are NOT made to be played on modern stereo equipment !! "

Ah, the famous/infamous Les Harris out of San Antonio, Texas.

He's been on The Bay for ages. Much to my surprise, he does get a lot of positive feedback, but I think it comes down to the fact he lists and sells so many records, which sort of "waters down" those negatives.

I've never been tempted to buy his records, as I've heard stories of over-grading.

I will say that his grading now is significantly better than it used to be (if you can believe that). The new ebay DSRs and seller only negatives have forced some of the worst ebay sellers to improve (and I'm finding that some sellers who used to be crappy graders are now super conservative all of a sudden).

Also, he no longer ships 45s inside an LP sleeve taped to the actual LP, which was not only unsafe but actually embarassing to get.

All of that said, he could get significantly better and he'd still be one of the worst sellers.

I remember him when he put pages of listings on Goldmine, a friend of mine once ordered 15/20 LP's from him. Their condition was so miserable (though listed M-) he had to send them all back !

one of the sleaziest record dealers in history. this thread about him is funny:

https://waxidermy.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=35722&hilit=nachoman

This is the difference between the us and the uk, us and them ! IE this is a guy who is a jerk etc here's a photo of him if you don't know the name etc, over here we apologise for even daring to mention someone who

Has/is behaving out of order, "don't want to name names etc but gonna endlessly have a bitch about them anyway....

Hilarious ! Thanks for posting this Mr A !

NM, Does this stand for Nearly Mutilated. :wicked:

Only Nachoman really knows for sure, as much as I can determine from experience, if the record is relatively complete & not missing a sizeable chunk, then it is NM. The "-" is supposed to tell you as a buyer that it is hammered & not to expect anything better. Also if you are unsatisfied with the grading system it is actually your fault as a buyer & "the system (ebay) sucks". It is never Les-Raul "Nachoman" Harris-Garcia's fault.

this is way to funny. I have dealt with him, and actually been to his house. I have heard so many stories. Records re-sealed and having a diffrent record in them. Sending one 45 and forgetting the other. Only to say ,he is looking for it? It goes on and on. I have got only a few things from him ,but i always make sure and send him a message letting him know that i know where he lives. If i want my money back I will be knocking on your door.
