Here is a 45 you don't hear much that kinda reminds me of Charades or High keyes in that it's one of those whole kitchen-sink type production/arrangements and it's much cheaper.

Think I read once they went on to become Fifth Dimension. What was that about? Bloody hippies. "Good morning starshine...." NO! Good morning soap and get a wash and a haircut.

Todays offering: Late great Otis Leavill double sider available for peanuts. Whole label is the mutts nuts but then with the roll call of Carl Davis, Eugene Record, Tom Tom Washington, Willie Henderson etc on the 'business' end it couldn't be anything else could it? This 45 beats both the original versions, which are also great records, in my opinion. Love it.

Regards,

Dave

JACKIE JASON 'Please Mr Sun'....Been away for a couple of days for my Mrs birthday, but am staying true to DAVE'S original ethos and not posting extra records with that as an excuse! Lovely Soulful little ditty this, with very poetic lyrics, played it to my daughter as we were being driven to her wedding... :hatsoff2:

Got this & couldn't remember where I knew it from then came across it when trawling through my records looking for something by Bobby Sheen as it's on the other side of "Something New To Do" & is the better version imo......just?

DAVID RUFFIN 'I wanna be with you'....Ultra soulful piece of modernl from the Master of Motown...I only have the 45, can anybody who has the album tell me who is doing the superb female vocals on this?... :hatsoff2:

This morning's offering: The best of Ady's Anniversary 45s in my opinion. They're all great but Chuck's in MONUEMNTAL. Still drags me up for a shuffle after all these years. What is it they say...Quality Will Out!

Regards,

Dave

Can you imagine discovering this? Or anything near this.? Kev.(still dreaming).

Fantastic record. Female vocalist is Laverna Mason. Two or three other standout tracks on the LP too

Thanks for that info DAVE.... :hatsoff2:

BOBBY SHEEN....'I may not be the one you want'....By far the superior version of this song, (IMO) had to post it after reading the MEL AND TIM stuff!

Rich

I like both versions but once you've heard Bobby's it is ther superior of the two as you say.
