Dave Moore Posted September 26, 2011 Posted September 26, 2011 One of my prized possessions is the original sheet music (complete and almost mint), to Still Waters by the Four Tops. It's signed by all four of the guys just above their individual photographs. I noticed JM is auctioning a Four Tops autographed LP and wondered if anyone has any similar items of interest? Not so much a scan of labels signed at Prestatyn type thing but authentic vintage signed memorabelia. What yer got folks? Regards, Dave

Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Got this one signed by Luther Randolf,Weldon McDougal & Johnny Syles These were signed in 2007 at the Hitsville Weekender in the US for Alan Pollard. There were also 25 full color posters created that were also autographed by the all three of the guys. Now Weldon has passed that's it, no more can be done. I'll dig out my poster and put it up. Anyone got any vintage promo photos signed? Regards, Dave

Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Signed by Matt Lucas in the music room at his ranch. I arrived a couple of days AFTER Pete Smith had bagged his last copy of "You Better Go Go". Had a great day with him though. He wrote the lyrics to the instrumental of Backstreet whilst I was there. Don't let anyone tell you "Shake It" is a Golden World acetate!
Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Signed by Norman Donegan of The Ad Libs at the record fair in New Jersey. He was a great bloke, who stole Bev's heart. He was there promoting the legacy of Otis Blackwell. (If you're not sure about Mr Blackwell's legacy then it's worth researching!). We got him (Norman) to sing "Think Of Me", which he actually remembered! Another great memory. Regards, Dave
Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Mr Deon Jackson. One of my all time heroes through Ollie Mac. With the help of our very own Bob A, we spent a fabulous afternoon with him in Chicago reminiscing his catalogue over a great lunch. I managed to get him to commit to an appearance in UK for Chris Waterman's New Century Soul but unfortunately he changed his mind. One artist I would pay dearly to see/hear live. Regards, Dave
Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Mr 'Tighten Up'. Also at the record fair in NJ. It was through this afternoon that we established who The Four Perfections really were. Archie has more energy than blokes half his age! Another great memory.
Steve Foran Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I saw the 4 Tops at the Golden Garter around 1980. Golden Garter fairly well known to Manchester types. Went back stage and chatted for ages then got them to sign my British I,ll turn to stone. You will know the maku up of the group then. I think I gave it to Alan Pollard as a gift?? ( Maybe). Heaven.
Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 A great vintage pic of Sammy Campbell. This was also signed in NJ after the best rehearsal I've ever witnessed. A true artisan. I taped it all and often play it back in my music room. A great memory. In my Top 10 'soul' memories. Regards, Dave
Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Here's a pic more contemporary. Taken by Bev at the Ritz in 1998 and signed by Brenda the week after at The Mechanics in Burnley. Not only could the lady still warble with the best of 'em, but she was a LOOKER too! AND a flirt! Great memories. Bev had this blown up as a poster before Brenda signed it. Regards, Dave 1
Dave Moore Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Finally, here's the poster we did of the Harthon Trio all signed up by them. Can't be many of these around now. Fantastic momento of a fantastic weekend. In my Top 5 soul memories.
