Guest in town Mikey Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Whenever I hear of unreleased Motown stuff doing the rounds i automatically think of Chris King. He played a few new bits at the Cardiff allniter in August. I'm not sure whether he played this or not.

Dont know where his getting this stuff from he wont tell me There was a unissued Jobete studio acetate of it on Manships's auction about two month ago. It's been known about for over 15 years and is on a tape of UR motown stuff that was doing the rounds several years ago, so he either has a copy of the acetate the tape or has broken into my house and lifted it off my PC! Bit too 'party time' for my liking. Edited November 4, 2005 by Simon T
Guest vinylvixen Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Unissued. Unless I see a scan of the acetate label, I won't be able to tell you if it's a genuine 'vault' item or 3rd generation acetate. Sounds around late 1963. Your mate is probably getting copies of the unissued CDs that are doing the rounds at the moment.......there's about 40 of them - and no, he probably won't divulge his sources either because the source would more than likely dry up. Funny old business, unissued Motown. JoMate just give me this on a cd what do you reckon any body know anything about this is it real dose it get played out was it issued. Guest ruffsounds Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Re Marvin Gaye (Past Time Love) as Simon T said the acetate was on John Manships site and it was the real deal of a disc, the person who put it on Manships is a friend of mine and he got the disc off none other than Melvin Davis. He is also the person who put out the (Snakepit cd) of the instrumentals from Motown and the limited vinyl pressing of Ghost In My House-Inst version. this has caused Universal records huge embarrassment and kick started them into releasing their own cds of unreleased stuff so sometimes it does help to kickstart the multinationals where it hurts most and best of all we hear records that would otherwise lay undiscovered. New Jimmy Ruffin also just surfaced called (We Finally Found Out) top sound cheers Ruffsounds
