Ernie Andrews Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I sold a Mel & tim on ebay (Forever & a day) to a guy in the US(Chandra Mittal) I offered 2 options for postage one with insurance $14 one standard airmail $8 He went for the ordinary air mail which was 5 pounds 37 pence - He has made a claim saying he never received it. I asked him for the address of his local post office so I could email them to check if the customs form on the packet had been seen or the indeed the packet itself - I have the proof of postage. He refuses to give me his local post office address - What do people think. ATB Steve
Guest julesp1905 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Numbers on Customs forms are not tracked by postal carriers, only trackable services they provide, and even they can be poorly recorded, depending on what service you use and what countries the item is going to, Don't why he is refusing to pass on the information requested, but they wouldn't be able to help in this case, sorry it couldn't be more helpful to your situation.
Ernie Andrews Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 Suppose Im hoping they dont see many Uk customs forms and the notice the packet!
Guest sharmo 1 Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I think by his refusal he's admitting something but that's not proof I no longer sell abroad unless it's recorded in some form or other best of luck Simon.
Guest franky m Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 i think i have seen this guys name mentioned before in a similar situation , i think he,s a scammer
boba Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 is it possible to email a us post office? i've never heard of that before. I found an email form on the USPS website but I can't find a way to contact a specific post office.
boba Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 also you should be able to find his local post office using his address / zip code
Ernie Andrews Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 also you should be able to find his local post office using his address / zip code Yes Bob I thought this but I was fishing to see if he would co-operate! Seems not at the moment For those who may have heard of him before I would appreciate any info as Paypal have temporarily taken the cash from my account!

Chalky Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I don't think I would post abroad now without full insurance, I wouldn't give them the option. I know this doesn't help you and hope you sort this in you favour, her does sound dodgy by not giving any info that might be relevant, local PO for instance. Have you mentioned this to PP?
Ernie Andrews Posted September 13, 2011 Author Posted September 13, 2011 The paypal case has only just been opened by him today But I requested the info from him days ago when he said it hadnt arrived. Hes got good feedback - he tends to bid on money bills mainly and the odd record. (Nightrider888) Maybe the record hasnt arrived but his lack of co-operation is not helping!
Pete S Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 I will only send anything over £20 abroad by registered post now, however, my star rating has gone down because they don't believe that it does actually cost £8 to send the item by that method and they think I'm ripping them off with the postage charges
boba Posted September 13, 2011 Posted September 13, 2011 Nightrider888 hasn't been an ebay user since 2003
Guest giant Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 i think i have seen this guys name mentioned before in a similar situation , i think he,s a scammer i have sold him LORRAINE CHANDLER---WHAT CAN I DO---GIANT few months ago , paid prompt and left me excellent feedback, no problems at all.
Guest eddiep Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 Steve, This thieving bastard your talking about done me out of over 100 quid for a 45 a few months ago. Said the record never arrived and done a bullshit paypal claim against me. I didn't have a chance. Seeing this w*nker mentioned here (purely by chance) has made my blood boil. AGAIN ! So much so..... I've just sent the w*nker a message. Best of luck Steve but I don't hold out much hope if i'm honest. It looks like his well versed in mugging people off. Hope the scumbag dies painfully and soon. All the best, Eddie

Steve G Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 How long ago was it sent? I've had cases where despite clearly being marked "airmail" the pack has gone on the boat......taking 5-6 weeks. ATB Steve

Steve G Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Strewth guys seems like there is a lot of evidence against this bloke. Ernie/Steve, seems like you have in the responses here ample evidence to give to paypal that this user ID is a fraud?> Edited September 14, 2011 by Steve G

Guest eddiep Posted September 14, 2011 Posted September 14, 2011 (edited) Steve, Mods and everyone else........ Just as a note to help you understand my anger and frustration ..... I've always tried to treat people the way that I would want to be treated so forgive my ranting and language but it really gets to me people like this tosser especially now knowing I'm not the only one thats been mugged off by him. Makes things even worse actually! For those that wish to know the message I sent this peice of sh*t and the reply I got back today read on...... Dear knightrider888, It appears your becoming very well known for scaming people out of their records and money "Chandrish". Hardly the one off that I thought it was when you said the record I sent didn't turn up. I find that incredibly annoying YOU STOLE FROM ME AND MY FAMILY MONEY THAT WAS NEEDED TO BE ABLE TO EAT FOR A WEEK HERE and it is obvious now that I was basically robbed by you after reading many posts on a well known record web site about YOU doing exactly the same thing to others. You make me sick you thieving scum bag! - soulbro45 The response..... Dear soulbro45, Everybody has their own opinions so I cannot change your thinking. I buy heavily all over the world and rarely have problems. It might seem high but compared to volume of purchases I would say not even 0.1% of the purchases have issue. Sometimes people don't write correct address or item get stucked in customs for which I cannot be held responsible. Not only the regular mails but items with tracking details also have the issue. Its all seller's choice how he wants to send the item and I never refused to pay the shipping costs or requested to change the invoice to lower shipping cost. I leave feedback as soon as I receive any purchase and contact the seller if anything doesn't show up in 30 days as I believe it shouldn't take a regular or tracked mail more than that to arrive. I might not have replied to your message but then decided to atleast convey my end of justification. I know it gets bitter but no choice as I am sure if you are in the same situation you will do exactly the same but people think they are too honest and others are fool. - knightrider888 What a w*nker ! boba Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 if you send an insulting or threatening message to anyone on ebay they can hit the report button and ebay will send you a warning (if it's your first time) or take more actions... it's actually more rewarding to provoke someone else into insulting you so you can report them. i know all of this from experience
Guest eddiep Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 (edited) Thanks for the info Bob but what's done is done. I think it would be unlikely that he reports me now as he knows there are a number of people he has made claims against and also knows that they know what his game is. A quick check by ebay would show the amount of undelivered item's he has claimed for and hopefully expose this scumbag for what he is. If I knew more about the process of being able to block this person from being able to buy (and I presume sell with another account) I would. Especially with the amount of guys on here that have been stiffed for large amounts of money and lost their vinyl too in the process. Unfortunately as we all know ebay's stance is always on the buyers side and never on the sellers. Seems futile to even attempt any action against him with zero support from ebay I'm sad to say. I know the old saying "Sticks And Stones....." and all that. But WORDS do help get it off my chest ya know??? All the best, Eddie Edited September 15, 2011 by eddiep

Benji Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 If I knew more about the process of being able to block this person from being able to buy (and I presume sell with another account) I would. Eddie, at least you can block him from bidding on your future auctions: "If you don't want to sell to certain eBay members, you can put them on your blocked list. They then won't be able to bid on any of your items until you take them off from the list. You can block up to 1,000 people. Here's how you add a member to your blocked list: 1. Go to the 'Blocking a bidder'. 2. Enter the User ID(s) you want to block. 3. Click 'Submit'. To take someone off your blocked list, delete the user ID in the text box and click 'Submit'. It's a good idea to let the eBay member know you've taken them off your blocked list. That way they know they can start bidding on your items again."

Samplat Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 If its the guy from california , i sold him a $250 record a couple of years ago and had no problem
Ernie Andrews Posted September 15, 2011 Author Posted September 15, 2011 cheers guys Ive asked paypal to look into how many claims he has for records where he only paid standard airmail charges. Ive also copied this link into my question to them so they can see that their are questions to be asked of this person. Best wishes guys and thanks for your input. Steve E
