Premium Stuff Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 (edited) It's OK - not another tale of woe from me about money and record deals - I just couldn't find that thread about hearing Northern played in unusual places when you are not expecting it. I'm off work today and took a few suits down to the dry cleaners in town - walked in and heard the Prophets - 'I Got The Fever' playing. Said to the guy - who was singing along - you know this one do you then? We ended up having a long discussion about Northern, the local scene etc. Apparently he has about 50 Northern CDs which he plays in the shop on a random player - interspersed into other music styles. Northern is ideal he reckons as there is no swearing, 'bloody guitar solos' etc. Dry Clean Plus in Newark - Clock Tower, Bar Gate, Newark. They are a decent family-run business too. Very helpful service all-round. I 'm expecting some more sounds when I go in and get the suits back on Monday SWONS Richard Edited September 9, 2011 by Premium Stuff
Guest sharmo 1 Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 Richard if ever I own a suit I'll get it spring cleaned there although probably not as I live miles away still the thought's there regards Simon.I was in B&Q once and under my thumb came on by Wayne Gibson which is one of my favorite records .Another very freeky one was in a lift in Amsterdam and I was feeling say a little "relaxed" when Tony Middleton's to the ends of the earth came on I must have gone up and down 5 times listening to it .i bet people thought i was a bit mad when the doors opened and I said I wasn't getting out as I was just listening to Tony Middleton !! regards Simon.
Mal C Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 (edited) I love the picture.. I spent my 36th Birthday shopping in Miami some yrs back, and as always I found bugger all, Liza my wife had bags of clothing, more than muggings could carry, so en route back to the hotel we rock up to Starbucks and have a coffee, and low and behold I sit down and on comes Spiral Staircase - I Love you more today than Yesterday..made my day.. and here's the coffee shop on South Miami Avenue.. Steve Foran Posted September 9, 2011 Posted September 9, 2011 My local Euronics store in Hazel Grove, Stockport, has a great selection of tunes being played by one of the girls. She is mainly into dancefloor types like the Wigan era, August and Deneen and Like adam and eve. Well worth a visit. Not a bad looker either.
