simonb
Funny this, I know. However the one that gets me is an instrumental :- "DeeDee" McArthur - Girl we're in love (Universal Sound) The flute just touches my Soul - I put my own words to it (in my head) depending on how I'm getting on with my wife. But every time I play it, I use my headphones, crank up the volume and drift away on an sea of emotion. THIS RECORD TO ME IS PURE SOUL. vaultofsouler
Not really thought about one particular track for myself.... I know loads mek me hair stand and give me a shudder for some past thought, memory, whatever.... but for me one track that stands out for a different reason is.... Timi Yuro - It'll Never Be Over For Me.... played (and again, and again, on replay me thinks) on entry and exit at the mighty "Bub's" funeral in Barnsley.... got everybody.... so much meaning about the guy and his affection for the scene.... and for everybody that was there.... Always liked the track but when I hear it now.... well.... say no more.... That big old "allniter in the sky" will be a much livelier place with him.... Tubbs
TRACK THAT STILL DOES IT FOR ME HAS TO BE RAY POLLARD THE DRIFTER MORE THAN 20 YEARS SINCE FIRST HEARING IT AND IT STILL REDUCES ME TO A QUIVERING WRECK Link to comment Social source share

Guest ShaneH
I have to admit Timi Yuro is one that will always get my full attention - fantastic record that always hits you where it hurts. Another one for me is when Roger Banks plays Le Reine La Mar 'that's not the way to love' / Marion Stewart 'I must be losing you' at the Wilton. These are records that I won't let anyone interrupt. Proper good! Shane Link to comment Social source share
Guest Jamie
Brilliant choices guys, especially Timi Yuro. Not the rarest of records, but as the post asks for the one that plucks your heart strings it has to be Ruby Andrews 'Just Loving You'. Her voice just makes my eyes fill up. The sheer pain, emotion and the clarity of her voice just blows me away. As a small boy one track that sticks in my mind is Tyrone Barkley 'Man Of Value' My Old Man had it on a tape and I used to play it over and over again. Perhaps I should have listened to what Tyrone was singing about - and just maybe I wouldn't have turned out like this!!!! Link to comment Social source share
Guest Trevski
Ella Woods- "I need your love" Merging The emotion in her voice as she pleads "love ME" although she knows she will never have the guy she wants...Makes my eyes fill up every time! Brilliant! Link to comment Social source share
Mark Bicknell
What a question!!!!!! Regards - Mark Bicknell Ps - See you all on Saturday at THE NEW CENTURY SOUL CLUB, and i'll show you what i mean!!!!!!!! Link to comment Social source share
