Guest northernsoul53 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Thought I'd let you have a browse over this article I dug out which is about where it all started, the whole Northern Soul Scene, Manchester and namely hangouts like the Twisted Wheel https://cityleaves.com/manchester/content/north-soul Great little article and video on there about the Northern Soul early scene.
Guest northernsoul53 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 Great story about a mod in the early 60s heading out to the Twisted Wheel, really good original photos on there too. Well worth the read, good website as well on the Twisted Wheel, click the button at bottom of the mod page https://manchestersoul.co.uk/msoul/mods.html

Chris L Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 intresting what happened to Roger Eagle? regards Simon Meethinks he got Ian L into Northern.
Paul Shirley Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 :sleep3: wasnt just the wheel or manchester that was playing this music back then and also wasnt the first . it just got more exposure than the others
Stevie Posted September 21, 2011 Posted September 21, 2011 Roger Eagle moved to North Wales shortly before he died. Met him a couple of times in Bangor in a record shop and at a gig in a local pub that he did with Brian Rae (I think). Didn't have much time for 'Northern' - seemed to be much more into his 'Blues'. Nice guy and interesting to talk to. Sad to have died at such a relatively young age.
