Guest in town Mikey Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 (edited) It is superb - it's an absolute Northern belter and Neil Rushton wrote in his book that at one point, it was the biggest sound in the country and people would travel just to hear it. It's got just about everything. Actually pretty rare on it's first Philips issue too. This came on the radio a couple fo weeks ago as I was driving into the car park at work. I was so distracted i drove into a wall and broke my number plate. But didnt miss a beat. Actually neither did Karen when she pointed ouit what a numpty I'd been. Edited May 18, 2012 by in town Mikey
Mike Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 two from me tymes - someway somehow doesn't get mentioned much nowadays but had some time in the sun.. was it 78 ? guilty pleasure at the time as could remember when first released 75 - top 50? there was a fair few of these mid 70s easy to get 45s revitalised round 78 a la gameplayers etc another guilty pleasure (aint heard since back then) was a tailor made one the (unreleased) instrumental version of "one fine morning" - memory says as the james bond feel was more obvious it sounded a lot better than it should of course kept such views to meself at the time
