Origin Of "nobody But Me" ?

i just was wondering if anyone knows more about the origins of the song as performed by annie laurie on deluxe (1959?) and later, sam chatmon feat. gwinny witherspoon on boss (chicago) (1961?).

i at least heard another version, but unfortunately don't remember the name.. so anyone with more background knowledge on this? seems somehow weird to me that a major folk-blues artist would do this popcornish thing, aint? thanks for your interest, any info appreciated..

don't really have any answers, but the annie laurie track, while it sounds exactly the same, has different lyrics and it's called "nobody's going to hurt you". don't know if someone was ripping someone else off. Also don't know who Gwinny Witherspoon is but her voice sounds just like Annie Laurie's.
