I don't want to imagine what mine would do if I said "I've got a treat for you love, we're going to Las Vegas, try and find some shoe / handbag / jewellry / nick nack shops to look in while I'm looking for records". Cheers, chris I think those ex NY guys that live down there have it pretty sewn in terms of finding rare records. When I was there a couple of years ago I checked out a few stores but nothing much in there - some Motown demos etc for $1 but that was about it.

As for cantacts you can call on dutch schultz or one of his fellow mobsters no records but you will be safe good luck chris mark
Guest 45s and 33s Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Probably to late but thought it worth a post anyway ... you can catch Liz Damon in cabaret in the Westward Ho, next to Circus Circus and opposite The Riviera most afternoons till around the 14th November when the bulldozers move in to demolish the place after forty-odd years. Food-wise, Dennys diner worth a visit as is the Peppermill. The last night should be a pretty good party with live acts and free booze. Ali

Ali Believe it or not, Styrene (Bev, my wife), and I had breakfast in the presence of Gladys Knight in this Dennys!! She was performing at the Casino next door and just ambled in in sweatpants "incommunicado". Couldn't believe it. Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/

Dayo Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 "O" (Cirque de Soleil) is an awesome, all enveloping, mind boggling experience but you'll need to book before you go, it's probably the most in demand ticket in Vegas. Check who's on at House Of The Blues. While I was there James Brown did a one nighter, but, sods law, it was the night I went to see "O". The Sunday gosepl brunch there is good fun though. Southern style soul food and a great bunch of resident gospel singers that will sho nuff git yuh sanctified! Recommended.

Regards, Dave https://www.hitsvillesoulclub.com/ Is she still resident at The Flamingo? I know she lives in Henderson. Oh and Chris - if you see Rosen he can tell you where any soul harmony groups might be playing - some of them are pretty good and they usually comprise ex members of groups like Nat 4, Precisions etc....And Dave I love the thought of you being wedded to Styrene - I prefer heavy duty UK pressing plant style plastic myself

Guest Posted November 10, 2005 Posted November 10, 2005 Really not much record wise. Made quite a few trips there and found squat. There's always some "review" shows going on, or as Dave stated earlier, acts like Gladys Knight and such. Couldn't tell you who or where exactly. Trips to Vegas are meant to be forgotten....!!
