Guest MrC Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 the closer she get -- John Drevans Expression damm beat me to it Sorry Shute! Quite a hard to find record, and even harder to find in really good condition. I always wanted one, but have never managed to get one. It's on UK MGM - seem to remember they were all the purple and silver demos?
dthedrug Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 HI ALL....This great record is the only UK MGM that I have never owned, All the TOP UK MGM's are very hard to find "Bok to Bach" "the Panic is on are very rare, but "the closer she get's" is by far the rarest! Would love one in any condition, just to complete the collection run, DAVE

I've seen one issue of this, came in a load of cheapies I bought, this was the only UK record in there - yellow stock copy. That was 10 years ago.

Guest in town Mikey Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 I bought the Destiny re-issue. Put it on a tape that we used to play when I worked at a supermarket after school. One of the guys there not into soul, absolutely loved it. But hated with a passion all the other stuff.

Mike, that one was very sneaky, it was a re recording and not the John Drevars original at all, despite the artist credit Edited August 27, 2011 by Pete S

Guest in town Mikey Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Mike, that one was very sneaky, it was a re recording and not the John Drevars original at all, despite the artist credit I didnt know that. Just thought it was a different mix or something. I will have to go find it and listen again. So soon after Dena Barnes These Heartaches too. What is the world coming to? thats cause it was a pop record I love me some poppy stuff Ted. Dawn - Love is a magic word. Dug that out about a year ago, and play it at home regularly.
Ted Massey Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 i like em to Mikey, i remember a co worker in the 80's listening to a tape and Lynne Randell came on he said this isnt soul so i had to go into long winded explanation of northern soul , he still didnt get it thou
