Has anyone ever managed to clean ugly mildew spotting on record labels (without damaging the label of course!). I've tried cleaning them with ispropyl alcohol but it doesn't remove that much of the mildew and just sort of smears it around. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Try Bleach and water mixed (about 70% bleach 30% cold water) And dab it on the spots with a cotton bud (squeeze off any excess first ) and just leave to dry. Failing that try the mold & mildew spray pre mixed (spray into a small cup) and use cotton buds as previously mentioned allow to dry, same results. The alcohol wont help as mould/mildew is a living fungus which the bleach attacks and kills off, providing it stays dry it should stay clean.This is fine on white labels etc but you may have to be careful with the colours. Thanks for the suggestion. I'm not trying to kill the mold (I assume it's long dead), just trying to remove the residue. I wouldn't be willing to use the bleach though because it would affect the rest of the label and anything under the mildew. Thanks a lot.

No worries Bob, I have used this method loads of times on white and light coloured labels to great effect. Atb John.
