The A-1 group is probably from Philadelphia, maybe New Jersey, I have a random photo of them somewhere but no info. The listening post record is definitely New Orleans. Also, the listening post record is '78 and the A-1 record is early 70s so they're probably also unrelated. in my experience the listening post record is harder to find, i've only seen it a few times and recently got a beat up copy on ebay.
Denbo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 fyi, these are two different groups. Can anybody supply sound files for each of these please? I'd love to hear them.
Docfish Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 (edited) Can anybody supply sound files for each of these please? I'd love to hear them. Youtube: by the way the guy I baught my copy from insisted, that the 'listening Post'-group is from texas, the label and production is definitely Nola though Edited August 23, 2011 by docfish
boba Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 so apparently I was wrong and the a-1 and listening post group are the same group, and the groups are both from texas
John Reed Posted August 27, 2011 Posted August 27, 2011 (edited) I Think it's the same track as the Reggie Garner/Reginald 45/12",on Out-Let. I think that too. I also listened to them side by side and couldn't tell the difference. But I'm sure a knowledgeable person will be able to tell us of any differences. I got the Reginald release I think about 1990, was this when that version was released? Edited August 27, 2011 by John Reed
