MJY is one of the better known Chicago bluesmen (with a strong soul inflection to his material) of the 60s/70s. Webcor was a Chicago based label he recorded for around 66-67. See also the Celtex label & the work of Roy Hytower from around the same time for a similar vibe. MJY had a long career as a blues guitarist & also played on a bunch of Chicago soul records on labels like Onederful etc. He also played with Magic Sam for a while. Good stuff. "Suffering Soul" is a great track, also check out "Ladies Man" on Celtex & the cheapie "I Want A Love" on Webcor. .
