Pete Burton Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Sorry to be the bringer of bad news but my best mate of 35 years and true soulie Bob Shaffer had a heart attack last night and was taken into Milton Keynes Hospital. Apparently, today he has been transferred by air ambulance to the Coronary Care Ward at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford. Many on the scene know Bob who is originally from Cambridge, has lived in North Wales for 12 years but recently moved back south to work in Milton Keynes as a teacher of motor mechanics at the MK Tech. The ward have said that flowers are not allowed but I'm sure Bob would appreciate cards. Please join me in wishing Bob a quick recovery and hoping we see him back out on the scene soon.
Chalky Posted October 30, 2005 Posted October 30, 2005 Hope everything goes well for Bob and here's to a speedy recovery

He's a sound bloke is Bob. pottsy Hi, Thanks for your message, we went over and visited Bob in Oxford tonight and he's doing really well. He had Angioplasty surgery soon after he was admitted because 2 of the arteries feeding his heart were blocked. But he's recovering really well, was really pleased with all the kind wishes that have been sent and looked better than I've seen him in ages. He will probably be moved back to Milton Keynes Hospital tomorrow and I'll let you know his ward details for cards, etc. as soon as I have them. Many thanks for caring. Pete

David Hi All, Visited Bob last night in MK General with Smoothy and Tony Warot and Bob's doing really well. We left him in really good spirits and I'm sure it's now just a matter of rest and recuperation before he's back to his old self. However, it might be some time before the hospital recovers from our visit !

Tony Worot? ..... i thought you said you were his mate Only kiddin ...... couldn't think of a better tonic Visited Bob again today and he's doing so well that they've now moved him th Ward 4, which is a general ward and means he no longer has to be wired up to the national grid. Or maybe they just moved him because my visits with other soulies had set back the other patients in the Coronary ward by months ! He now has to just rest for a week before they begin to check heart rates etc. when exercising on a treadmill and assuming that all goes well he will soon be allowed home. Anyhow, Bob now has one of those TV/Internet/Phone Thingys with his own phone number so anyone who knows him well just PM or email me with your email address and I'll forward the contact number so that you can have a chat direct with him. The revised address for cards is: Bob Shaffer, Ward 4, Milton Keynes General Hospital, Standing Way, Eaglestone, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK6 5LD
