bri pinch Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 probably go thru at that starter i'd have thort
Dave Pinch Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 3 for 3.........cant see that selling.i`d be very very surprised if it does....good old tune tho dave
Pete S Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Why is this suddenly so expensive? Admittedly it's been 10 years since I sold mine but it was £600 then, it can't have quadrupled in value surely?
Guest brianw70 Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 have to agree with marc and dave , cant see this selling at that price wouldnt mind it tho
MrsWoodsrules Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Didn't sell, lovely tune, I think I'd be looking for a Gene Toones or maybe a Cavaliers if were going for Shrine, if I had that kind of disposable to spend on those shiny lilttle black 45's that is, which I don't.

MrsWoodsrules Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Yeah, that's probably true Boba, out of my league those Boba, i know a few serious collectors in Warrington that have probably owned it in their day, I'm just feeling my way back into collecting again after a long absence, I'm on three figures not four when it comes to buying (at the moment at least).
MrsWoodsrules Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 just come across this as I was perusing t'internet. https://cgi.ebay.com/VOWS-DETROIT-NORTHERN-SOUL-45-V-I-P-25016-HEAR-BOTH-/220826870089?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item336a4ea149#ht_3726wt_1228 Nice tune, but if this is a vg+ then my d@*k's a chocolate biscuit! Takin liberties with a less than conservative grading, don't you think?

Takin liberties with a less than conservative grading, don't you think? maybe, but I don't know what's different from this listing compared to hundreds of other ebay auctions at any given time
MrsWoodsrules Posted August 12, 2011 Author Posted August 12, 2011 Well the picture speaks louder than the words I'd say. I've on the whole been pleased with most of my recent purchases, re;condition as described, bar one Variations on Okeh that resembled a plant pot when it arrived & went straight in the bin.
Benji Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 just come across this as I was perusing t'internet. https://cgi.ebay.com/...#ht_3726wt_1228 Nice tune, but if this is a vg+ then my d@*k's a chocolate biscuit! Takin liberties with a less than conservative grading, don't you think? don't see anything wrong with that listing. VG+ grade is for the vinyl only and if you play the clip you'll hear it really plays fine.
Benji Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Why is this suddenly so expensive? Admittedly it's been 10 years since I sold mine but it was £600 then, it can't have quadrupled in value surely? EX or better copies sold for 2K at least two times in the last 3/4 years.
Mal C Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Tim Brown had one in his last but one auction, last saw it was on £850, anybody see what that ended on? Mal.C
Dave Pinch Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 just come across this as I was perusing t'internet. https://cgi.ebay.com/...#ht_3726wt_1228 Nice tune, but if this is a vg+ then my d@*k's a chocolate biscuit! Takin liberties with a less than conservative grading, don't you think? the vinyl would seem to be pretty clean and the label damage is there for all to see and its onlly 15 quid at the minute so its a bargain.i doubt it`ll stay at that price tho dave
Guest Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 Ahhh this seller. His recordings crack me up. Super flutter. Someone should donate $10 to replace the rubber band he's got on his turntable with a real belt.

Guest Preems Posted August 16, 2011 Posted August 16, 2011 "the soundclip makes grading a MUTE point" ugh ok bro
Guest Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 "he always had a different tye-died shirt and a ponytail" Don't all record dealers look like this?
boba Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 "he always had a different tye-died shirt and a ponytail" Don't all record dealers look like this? maybe in cali, definitely not in chicago. chicago is like one step down from hippies, "yous guys" type dudes with worse personal hygene

Takin liberties with a less than conservative grading, don't you think? You might get a slight bargain on the record, and die soon after from poison mold inhalation! I wouldn't mind having that Shrine Record. I wish I could afford them.
