I bet she's got absolutely no knowledge that anyone even bought her record, let alone coveted it for 35 years and that it was released in the UK, and on a Kent lp, and is still very popular...someone should tell her

I've been in touch with her on Facebook.

I informed her all about the love we have for the "Jodi Mathis" 45.

Cheers, Heath.

I actually found her a while ago, when her daughter posted some info on a youtube video I uploaded of JM.

On a similar subject, I am also in touch with the wife of Prince George (Wrong Crowd). she sent me a message on youtube and we've had a chat and I am currently waiting for "Prince" to give me some background info of his career.

Cheers again, Heath

That's really interesting, hope he get in touch.

Back to Jodi Mathis,i've always regarded this (DYCA) as one of the "purest" and most uplifting vocals i've heard ,a spinetingling Highland Room tune...

Her other 45 on CAPITOL, "God Is Love", is one of my all-time faves. Fantastic mid-tempo stepper-ish kinda crossover tune.

New to me Sebastian. I only thought she had the one release. My mouth's watering already. Gonna search for a clip now.......

It's a very rare 45. I've been trying to find another copy for nigh on 10 years without luck.

As KevH wrote, it is included in one of my mixes.

Wow, very interesting. For me she's one of the most under-rated vocalists of all time. The sheer passion of "Don't You Care Anymore" leaves most other vocalists at the starting block. I'm amazed she didn't do more solo recordings......

Dont know if you can remember Ian,I had your copy in a trade at Bourne Corn Exchange in the 70,s.........not gonna mention what else I took of you and for what, you would be embarrassed lol :shhh:

Jodi Mathis still a great tune and still have it somewhere

Nice one Sebastian, I just picked a copy up for $3 plus P&P. A bit of luck.

Congrats! That's a result!

Hope you didn't order the promo/demo though as it has got the flipside "Young Power" on both sides.

Go on tell Smudge! I'm long past embarassment these days LOL. As long as I passed 'em to good homes that's all I'm bothered about. I look at records like karma, in that I've always passed records on and got more records coming in all the time so the collection constantly mutates. I've always had a copy of "Don't You Care Anymore" though. That's one I couldn't live without!

Are you sure Smudge? Thought I picked up "Cochise" @ the Mecca as a new release. However, it must have been the biggest record in the country at that point 'cos we weren't flooded with 'em till a few weeks later I seem to remember. The Guys From Uncle I loved anyway. Where did we do this deal by the way?

Sure Ian we did the deal at Bourne Corn Exchange in Lincolnshire.Your copy of Jodi had a little blue round sticker on it.The records (cochise etc) came from JA that morning,The next time I saw John Vincent he told me when he arrived at the Casino that night there were hundreds of copies of cochise.I did offer to do a reverse deal but he wouldnt hear of it.

We all make mistakes Ian.I swapped my Billy Woods with Ginger for Malibus Gee Baby and Timothy Wilson on Sky Disc, like you say perhaps the biggest record in the country at that time.In Gingers book he tells another story about Billy Woods!!!!!!!

Yep, that was my first Jodi alright. Good timing on the "Cochise" then Smudge! Can we call it straight for that gig I missed in Cambridge a couple of years ago then?

Incidentally, that's pretty much the only gig that I ever missed mate so many apologies. I'd got news earlier that day that I'd just got the Demon gig and for some reason I just got my Friday dates mixed up. I was gutted at the time so, once again, many apologies to all who were involved at the time.

I didn't any other deals with you did I?
