I've always thought Simon Hunt should get more bookings, an excellent DJ.

Another one that springs to mind is former Cambridgeshire resident Andy Killick, he's got some brilliant stuff.

Spent a few late nights at various after event caravans/flats with Paul and armed with his box of 45's he usually says "Have you heard this Brett", and of course i haven't, this then causes me a nervous spasm attack, while trying to write the said track(s) down on the corner of a napkin with a crayon....totally unreadable the following morning....but in full agreement Mike.

lol at the crayon!

think its a sub-concious cheapskate thing

cause if do manage to write info down clearly and then actually remember where you put the note, then it can be very very ..expensive. :P

have tried many methods of memory some failed ones

one mucker remembers label one remembers artist one remembers title

failed as on monday it was like a verbal version of a rubic cube

tried to use a message service - phone it up and it records what you say

failed as after listening to recording meself in cold light of a monday resulted in a 3 weeks at the monestry :D

Oops dave got the wrong guy, one he is on about is as karen says andy gill, thought he was BRILLIANT, didn't get to hear Matt Bolton at the 100 club, but have heard several people going on about how good he was and playing something different. Dont think I have heard Paul Sadot DJ yet!

I send myself text messages to remember records or take a photo of them

Best is to write a text out and save it or take a pic on your phone/camera :shhh:

Got to second that Andy, I have always enjoyed Dave's DJing although I didn't like to say so seeing as he is a friend and it may look like I was just saying that if you know what I mean

I really must learn to improve my english skills

I'd say Cliff too. He really moved the scene on down here through the 80's and 90's and is still doing it now.

i haven't heard cliff steele in years but i always rated him very very highly, right up there with the likes of ian clark for me

always associated him with loads of brilliant midtempo sounds (my favourite stuff) - is that still the case?

last time i heard cliff steele was at stevie z weekender in wales---awrsome spot he played--when it comes to midtempo and one off album tracks this is the man-----fantastic taste in music he has

Yes, I'd agree with that. He also played my wifes request - Chuck Cockerham, so he gets extra brownie points for that.

Weird thing for me, is that since I've been back on the scene (3/4 years) I'd never heard of Mr Steele.

I think he could do with a new agent, Dan.

STEVE PHILLIS. top dj

yeah Dan, though i have seen him do a couple of really nice crossover sets too

Cliff Steele is awesome .... always has been!

So too is ANDY WHITMORE ...... always plays something i've never heard before .... and always class.

Both more than do the business with 60s and the newer stuff.

If these 2 were booked to play more ...... then you would really see the scene moving forward :D

Keeping up with Baz and the blatant plugs.

You can see/hear Cliff Steele at Rugby, Sat 12th Nov...
