45cellar Posted July 30, 2011 Author Posted July 30, 2011 No release in the U.S.A. on single other than the "LIVE" Version. Here's the stunning U.K. release.
John Benson Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 So what's that about on 'Mr Man's' recent auction about dark blue label for the UK "Soothe me" then? That's the only one I know about (and have) on blue Stax, was there another one on the lighter blue label also? Also, don't forget another goodie from them "Everybody's got to believe in somebody" - also done by Dee Dee Warwick. https://www.45cat.com/record/584228
45cellar Posted July 31, 2011 Author Posted July 31, 2011 I have been wondering the same John, I have only seen the Dark Blue copy for "Soothe Me" on UK STAX. Here's "Everybody's Got To Believe In Somebody" on a U.S.A. DEMO.

Jerry Hipkiss Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 So what's that about on 'Mr Man's' recent auction about dark blue label for the UK "Soothe me" then? That's the only one I know about (and have) on blue Stax, was there another one on the lighter blue label also? The way I read it, it was more the fact that it was the studio recording, rather than the US single which used the live version...
Paul McKay Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 I've never seen a light blue copy either. It probably comes form the Findagroove value listings from c. 1976 which listed the label variants. Got a spare but NOC if anyone's inetested?
Bo Diddley Posted August 3, 2011 Posted August 3, 2011 (edited) Here's my light blue copy. Not sure if the difference will show up in the scan. I'd never seen the DARK blue before the JM auction!! (then again, not something I would be looking for) Kev Bod. Edited August 3, 2011 by bo diddley

I still love this. So pleased that the studio version was released here in the UK. The 1st release with the Dark Blue label reminds me of the hours spent in second hand shops searching for records like this.
Dimples Posted March 20, 2020 Posted March 20, 2020 One of my fave by Double Dynamite: "Don't knock it". If I'm not wrong only came out as a 45 in Spain. 1
