I love so many forms of dance art , you and many others are the original dancers from back in the day i also thinK billys still got the moves , respect to all the original gen and to the newcomers , love the music and express yourself through dance , dance is a soul thing from within peace and love KTF.... MARK alright mark, yep you like a certain song just get up and express youreself, and true words billy still got it, watched him at skeggy weekender.Ive spent a fair bit of my own time showing and encouraging a few of the youngsters on the scene,i personaly dont mind helping anybody if they wanna pick the style up? see you soon mate.

Rednose Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Can you youtube it? I've been told Mand floats like a butterfly and stinks like a bee......... being the gentleman i am i coudnt unless she agrees
Steve Myers Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Young lady at her first time at a Soul event, said to me, how do you / they dance like that, my answer was. You take thousands of years of oppression and slavery, compress it into a little black disc and then try to pour it back on to a dance floor through your feet. She just gave me a blank look and walked away, Lol Just illustrates the point that its all about the passion you feel, and not how you look...... Love to see the really good dancers though........... 1
Madmandy Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Can you youtube it? I've been told Mand floats like a butterfly and stinks like a bee......... NO DON'T it will be terrible ...was making a tw@t of myself lol

Guest Brett F Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 That youtube clip is awesome, i've been all over the world and you'll never get anyone as pissed as the Brits, god bless him, reminds me of a tough working men's club i went too in the early 80's full of miners etc on a strip night, place was rammed, the girls were doing there thing , when one odd looking and very drunk ginger haired kid took all his clothes off and just walked through the crowd and pranced on stage, the place erupted, the girls left and the ginger boy just kept the entertainment going...priceless.

MELS Posted August 15, 2011 Posted August 15, 2011 TO ME IT ISN'T SO MUCH ABOUT TECHNIQUE. WHETHER YOU INCORPORATE BACKFLIPS, SHUFFLE FROM SIDE TO SIDE OR TAPDANCE IN A CIRCLE, THE DANCERS I MOST LIKE TO WATCH ARE THE ONES WHO OBVIOUSLY FEEL THE URGE TO MOVE, RATHER THAN FEEL THE URGE TO BE SEEN. NORTHERN SOUL IS A WAY OF LIFE. MY WAY IS NOT A DUPLICATE OF SOMEONE ELSE'S WAY. A GREAT DANCER IS AN INDIVIDUAL WHO DANCES HOW THEY FEEL AND WHO WEARS WHAT THEY WANT TO WEAR WITHOUT WORRYING ABOUT CONFORMITY TO ANOTHER INDIVIDUAL'S IDEA OF WHO THEY SHOULD BE. ME. I'M A SHUFFLER AND PROUD. GOOD ONLY BECOMES GREAT WITH INSTINCT. 1

3 Before 8 Posted August 19, 2011 Posted August 19, 2011 cheers billy, i first seen gethro at a nottingham palias all dayer, wich also was my introduction to northern soul, wow watching gethro did it for me... got hooked on the dancing immediately .When i first went to the casino i use to sit and watch gethro, but its fair to mention youre good self along with vernon being up there as top dancers, youve still got it billy.may it long continue...i do think keb darg is also in a class of his own and a great pleasure to watch, little sammy dee superb and deserves a mention...although its not about how good you are or what level youre at,its what a certain song does for you and compels you to the dance floor and makes you express youre self ...best wishes to every body who as a try. Hi Tommo does anybody see anything of Gethro or Vernon these days? Dave
