Soul Shrews Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Basic black and pearl 'There ll come a time there ll come aday'
Guest Richard Bergman Posted October 24, 2005 Posted October 24, 2005 Basic black and pearl 'There ll come a time there ll come aday' Great record , I presume they're English as I have the above tune on the Bus Stop label , a label which I only thought Paper Lace recorded on !!!
Liamgp Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Jackie Edwards and the Chants for sure. Busty Springfield stuff - What's it Gonna be?, Dusty in Memphis. A lot of 'beat' groups released quite acceptable soul-type material - the Action, Spencer Davies Group or the Small Faces, fr'instance . A lot of UK soul is a bit 'chicken in a basket' for my tastes. And don't forget Soft Cell!!
Guest Johnny One Trout Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 IAP CO - CHECK YOURSELF (Does this count as they were Italian?) GALE GARNETT - I'LL CRY ALONE (Aussie I think, is that correct ?) Richard the IAP Co is a US release on Colossuss the UK version is by the Duprees (same group, same recording, same record) on Polydor John
Guest Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Two Lovers and Heartbreak-Sonny Childe & TNT (UK production by American Claire Francis) or maybe the Four Vandals on Boardwalk

Pete S Posted October 25, 2005 Posted October 25, 2005 Gale Garnett was released in America so doesn't qualify. Jackie Edwards was recorded in England so it's not Jamaican.
