Philt Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 (edited) If DJs want to post individual playlists that's up to them, obviously, but GS was supposed to be about quality all night. Limitations - I'm lonely, I'm troubled Soul Bros Inc - all the time Inspirations - your wish is my command Les Chansonettes - don't let him hurt you Matt Lucas - you better go go Jackie Day - naughty boy Fascinators - in other words Volcanos - your number 1 Ethics - I want my baby back Precisions - why girl Turbines - we got to start over Little Curtis and Blues - please keep me Admirations - heaven is in your arms Mr Caldwell - love bandit Fabulous Peps - with these eyes Majestees - take back all those things Volcanos - rules of love Accents - who you gonna love Trent Sisters - a letter a day Bev Schaffer - even the score George Tindley - ain't gonna worry about you Little John - heartbreakin time Sonny Daye - long long road to happiness Embers - first time Curtis Liggins Indication - what it is Big Frank and the Essences - I won't let her see me cry Don and Juan - the heartbreakin' truth Herbs - question Hayes Cotton - black wings have my angel Vondells - hey girl you've changed Lee Williams - lost love Four Voices - your love is getting stronger Fabulous Apollos - ain't no use Lou Pride - your love is fading Pat Lewis - no one to love Accents - better think again Joseph Moore - still can't get ... Soulfool Posted July 10, 2011 Posted July 10, 2011 Myself, Joan, Tony, Phil, Kev and Shaz sat for about an hour or so from 5.30am drooling over such quality and compiling the list, although Phil listed most of them. Top, top quality ALL night from DJ's who know their jobs and do them well. David.
Guest rosemary Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 that's a fantastic playlist........lots and lots of my favourite records I just hope you put on another Grumpy Soul night, looks like I missed a great night xxx
Ged Parker Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 Delacardos sounded great ,must dig mine out Couldn't agree more. When you see the cost of many of the tunes played picking this one out shows its not all about the cost. Mind you was it on Atlantic or Q City . Whichever its still a relatively affordable record but seldom heard and top top class for me.
soulsalmon Posted July 11, 2011 Posted July 11, 2011 (edited) Think i only payed $10 for it recently Ged (atlantic copy ) ,same with Bev Scaeffer Edited July 11, 2011 by soulsalmon

Philt Posted July 15, 2011 Author Posted July 15, 2011 Mental playlist as ever Phil - lordy how good is the Universals!!! Wish I'd bloody played em all Had most over the years but no longer, sadly. It was really good mate and if we do another you gotta come - B&B and pies all-in youth Universals is a fair old 45 ain't it and finally getting a bit of recognition on the dancefloor in these ere parts. It'll get another outing at Burnley tomorrow too I reckon.
Corbett80 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 (edited) Yes its amazing - should be finally on the road and driving end of august so will definitely make it up at long last! Marco has been playing the Universals down here I think and heard Mr. Dobson play it once or twice before as well. Certainly not heard it anywhere near like enough though!
