Yes - it was booted on a white label DJ copy for the Island scene in the US, for the other side : "False Pride"

Originals are Bell Sound stamped

Hope this helps

I got caught out too, I didnt realize it had been booted at the time.

The original is a hard record to find - far harder than all the other Northern records on Veep.

The original is on both label designs, and issues do exist but are very, very rare

The way to tell the difference is :

1) Original is styrene ; boot is vinyl

2) Look for the bell sound stamp in the deadwax on the original.

Hi John / anyone , What's the going rate on a M- original W/D ( the plain / non-hexagonal design ) please ?

I knew it was a pretty rare original , but no-one has ever pulled it out my sales box for a 2nd look , which suggests it's either overpriced or not very good ? I don't even remember it hearing it played at a venue tbh.

It was played by Richard Searling at the VaVa in Bolton in the early 70's.

I collect Veep and used to got to the VaVa, so its always been on my radar screen. Its never been a popular collectors record albeit that may be down in part to the fact it never turns up.

Fair market price - I'd say should be about 75 pounds for an Ex original, albeit on rarity value it should be double that, at least, when you consider it against Star-Treks, Rose St John, Timothy Wilson, Zena Foster (Teach you), Elbie Parker and Cindy Scott - all of which surface on a more regular basis !

Hi again John , Thanks for your reply & info re-Johnny D. It's in my sales box @ JM's guide price of £150 , purely down to its M- condition & never seeing one up for sale recently , ( at a price to guide me ) , and that also explains the disinterest in it from buyers then . Must admit i played it earlier today & it's slightly better than i remembered it tbh.

regards ,

Cookie.
