Supercorsa Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Here's one from me. I actually prefer this instrumental to the Little Ann vocal version.
Tricky Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 Always loved Pisces Pace on TCB.Heard it played by Dave i think at a couple of Wiltons. Soft spot also for Shoop Doop on Demo Ristic.Atmospheric hypnotic sound that grows the more you hear it.
Kev Moore Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 (edited) I must say there's not much Dave Hamilton product not to like, but for me, at the moment it has to be this one. Pure bliss. I was talking to Gilly recently about how it sounds like he's playing milk bottles in a Detroit basement and Gilly replied 'he probably was Kev'. Edited July 4, 2011 by Kev Moore
Wilxy Posted July 3, 2011 Posted July 3, 2011 I must say there's not much Dave Hamilton product not to like, but for me, at the moment it has to be this one. Pure bliss. I was talking to Gilly recently about how it sounds like he's playing milk bottles in a detroit basement and Gilly replied 'he probably was Kev'. Can only concur with Kev's initial statement, since first purchasing the Kent (Ady's)" Detroit Dancers"(compilations), I've obtained many of the vinyl pieces obviously that are actually available, and have become "hooked" on most of Dave Hamiltons associated "output", and having recently added his Latest Detroit Soul compilation for my pleasure, sought out a couple more "shiny silver" items on Ace which are whilst yet unplayed, are the Detroit City Groove, and Detroit Funk compilations, and I'm quite certain one of the motorway systems will be sharing some soundbites of the Great mans genius in due course Respect to Ady in particular for the opportunity of gleaning eartime
Premium Stuff Posted July 9, 2011 Posted July 9, 2011 (edited) All of Dave's stuff is top class - from soul, funk, through to classy jazz I also love Pisces Pace on TCB and Shoop Doop on Demoristic Love Bobby Dee on Demoristic and also Little Stevie on the same label which seems quite obscure - a kind of gospel/soul thing. I put Little Stevie in Refosoul a while ago - but of course that's down at the moment so I can't link to the soundfile Cheers Richard Edited July 9, 2011 by Premium Stuff
