Derek Pearson Posted July 2, 2011 Posted July 2, 2011 (edited) Up for grabs here is a couple of 45s I haven't offered before and a handfull of leftovers from previous sales attempts. All in Excellent condition unless stated. James Fountain "Seven Day Lover" (US Peachtree) Excellent £425 SOLD If you've ever wanted a copy of this stone cold classic this is the one to buy. I know where it's been, I know its history and its provenance. I actually found this copy as old un-used store stock in the states some 20 odd years ago and to be perfectly honest I thought I'd sold it about 10 years ago when I was trying to raise some cash just prior to another one of my house moving cycles. Obviously I didn't move it on and somehow it must've got mixed up with a load of other stuff and over the last decade or so has sunk deeper and deeper into those scratty cardboard boxes on the floor marked "one day I'll have a look through these and see what some of these 45s sound like...." So you can imagine my total surprise on lifting a lid off one of these boxes recently and there blinking in the daylight was good old JF looking up at me. And I'm pretty sure the whole darn street heard me shout Yes Go On...... Probably only played it out whilst DJing less than a dozen times as well. And yes it's got all the correct run out markings to confirm its originality. Otis Clay "You Hurt Me For The Last Time" 3:36 / "Baby Jane" 2:20 (UK Red Atlantic 584282) large centre hole released in 1969. Date stamped 11 July 1969. Slight label damage BJ side. Excellent £75. Earnest Nelson "I'll Make It Someday" (US Runaway) obscure Hollywood dancer VG+ £25. Patience Valentine "Our Love( A Special Blending)" 2:45 (US M.J.R. Records) Excellent £20 SOLD Simply superb mid seventies deep soul. As good as it gets. John Edwards "The Look On Your Face / It's Those Little Things That Count" (US Bell) styrene WDJ Excellent £200 Jimmy Barnes "If By Any Chance / Maybe Never" (US Sue) Excellent £125 SOLD The Electrifying Cashmeres "What Does It Take (To Win Your Love)" (US Sound Stage Seven) styrene Radio Station Copy Ex £50. The Drapers "Your love has gone away" / "You got to look up" (US Gee) WDJ Near Mint £75. Fred Hughes "Don't let me down" (US Vee Jay) WDJ pretty damn rare on a white demo me thinks. Near Mint £35. Bobby Wade "I'm In Love With You" (US Way Out) Excellent £20. Super soul from Cleveland, arranged by Mike Terry no less. Brook Benton "Where Does A Man Go To Cry" (RCA 8944) WDJ £10. Gotta be in the Top 100 Beat Ballads of all time! Old Roger banks spin. Forgot to mention writing on label so reduced it down from £15 to a tenner. Paul Sindab "Can't wait no longer" (US Kasika) Excellent £40 Offers may be considered on certain records. PM or email (pearson544@btinternet.com) me for more details/to reserve/to discuss etc. Payment by cheque (UK) or Paypal as a gift would be nice. On any record over a hundred quid I'll do the same deal as before - if you do me a favour by sending the ££ to me through Paypal as a gift, I will cover the P&P costs and mail you the record by Special Delivery (UK only) UK postage (with recorded delivery) for any other record is £2. Ta very muchly. Spend away with freedom and abandonment. derek x Edited July 19, 2011 by Derek Pearson

Benji Posted July 5, 2011 Posted July 5, 2011 Did I Benji? (sound of confused, embarrassed laughter in background.....) Wonder if I had 2 copies then? Sold one to you and kept one? Mmmm? The mysteries of life eh? onwards, derek x I'm 100% sure my copy came from you. Would make sense that you sold one and kept one, especially as the one I bought is rather VG+ than EX so you obviously kept the better one. Must have been around 1999 or 2000, I remember clearing the dancefloor completely when I played it for the first time.
