Joe Tex Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 " Here come's Johnny " won a copy of Johnny Caswell at the begining of February took ages before I got a Parcel force letter for £50 Customs & handling charges payable before I could have the record so i ignored the letter record went back return to sender via snail mail, I emailed seller hoping he would resend it putting a low value on it this time, Surprise !! after nearly 5 months it turned up this morning result. This is the first time I have replaced a record I had sold and later wished I had'nt.
Geoff B Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Hi Neil, Just goes to show that it is worth sending records back when customs tried to charge import duty.Done it myself. atb,Geoff.
Joe Tex Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 Hi Geoff, It's a worry though after that amount of time theirs not much you can do if the seller decides not to resent it thankfully he was honest unfortunately not all of them are. Neil
Guest Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Once bought an amp on eBay, the seller declared it was worth $100 MORE than I paid for it. Being a sucker, I paid the full duty, and then filled out a bunch of forms to get my overpayment back from the gov't. Still, who does that? Those sellers who write "I will not put less than full value as it IS AGAINST THE LAW." -- seriously.
