Bitchdj Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 (edited) Hi all , Just been playing through some odds'n'sods and put Chubby Checkers "Looking At Tomorrow" on the turntable. I'd forgotten just how good this record is , and how i personally have NEVER seen it on an issue before , mine being the common-ish W/D. Looking on popsike revealed 3 white demos and only 1 issue copy ( that had sold back in 2007 ). What's its current value and availability please "Soul Sourcers" ? tia , Cookie. Guest Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Incidentally .....that was his last single on Parkway.
Graym Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Great lyrics from Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann - Mann released a fair rendition himself on Captol - but not as gutsy a performance as Bunny.
45cellar Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Extremely Rare as a Stock Copy, I have just acquired a West Coast DEMO, wonder if there's a West Coast Stock Copy out there waiting to be found. WEST COAST DEMO CHUBBY CHECKER - LOOKING AT TOMORROW - EAST COAST DEMO Here's the elusive Stock Copy, An East Coast Parkway. PopSike.com BARRY MANN on Capitol

John A Posted June 25, 2011 Posted June 25, 2011 the white demo is not that common but i dont think its worth a STACK. i struggled to get £40 last year for one dave You did well, I had a spare of this a couple of years back and just about managed to get 20 quid or there abouts, Tis actually quite a tricky one to get.Great record tho.
Guest TONY ROUNCE Posted June 28, 2011 Posted June 28, 2011 Incidentally .....that was his last single on Parkway. Incidentally....that wasn't his last single on Parkway. 'That' was his penultimate release on the label. Chubby closed his Parkway account in December 1966 with the excellent dance track Karate Monkey (P 112) as opposed to 'Looking...' (P 105) which came out around October 1966)...
Foi Posted April 3, 2016 Posted April 3, 2016 (edited) Roger saw your post ages back and been meaning to get round to scanning in my issue copy of chubby checker looking at tomorrow. West coast issues are rare, a lot rarer than the white demos for sure. Edited April 3, 2016 by foi 1

Yep took me a while to get a west demo ages back and sold that for £40 and managed to get hold of the issue for much less so lucky and happy at the same time! Fantastic tune and some don't realise just how rare the issues are with this tune! Edited April 3, 2016 by foi 1
