dthedrug Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 HI ALL,,,,, This is a mystery to me? Why dud the SP QR have 2 shots the B side SPQR 102, and which come 1st the SP QR 102 WITH THE UP-TEMPO & MID-TEMPO PRESSING. and then SPQR 102 with JUST ASK ME as the official A side the B side being the MID-TEMPO CUT. And what is the value of the up tempo A side today as I rate it, and if records like STANKEYS DAY OFF go from £1 to £100 this worth promoting?? Dave
Patto Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Great record Dave still hear it out regularly at soul nights.Think i'm in the minority as i actually prefere Elsie Strongs version on Finally label which has the instrumental on the flip.
Guest Dave Turner Posted June 19, 2011 Posted June 19, 2011 Just looking at yer new avatar Dave. Looks like a baseball bat in yer hands and yer about to deal in violence at a Greenpeace Stonehenge rally
Guest Polyvelts Posted June 20, 2011 Posted June 20, 2011 Dont know if you know this Dave but there's a great version (much more seventies oriented than the pounding sixties 4/4 orig) on Legrand label. Brilliant flip 'Some woman's bedroom', cheating tune complete with squeking creaking bed spring solo !!!
dthedrug Posted June 25, 2011 Author Posted June 25, 2011 (edited) Just looking at yer new avatar Dave. Looks like a baseball bat in yer hands and yer about to deal in violence at a Greenpeace Stonehenge rally IN MY YOUTH IT WOULD HAVE BEEN, I always wanted to do the stonedheng trip! I was knackerd after this, still I have ticked it of the list of 1000 things to do before I DIE? The record on the LEGRAND LABEL is the one that I had in my origanal US collection and the best for sound quality. DAVE Edited June 25, 2011 by dthedrug
