Cheers lets hope i have the same out come i dont think for 1 minute its the dealers fault he has 7000+ and 100% Ebay feed back my only worry is that it was originally posted on the 17th and i had a email from USPS saying it was being returned to sender because of incorrect address that was on the 21st. on the 24th the last tracking info appears saying left USA. USPS have told the dealer it is definitely in the UK.

Sadly Ted Royal Mail dont track and dont have to get a signature for Overseas signed for items. This has been like it for a few years now. If we get any type of international signed for they come in the normal mail and Postmen treat them as normal mail. It used to be that overseas signed for came with the uk Special Delivery items and everything needed a signature. Some postmen do get them signed for but not many . It could be that the item has entered the system and is either laying about somewhere or in customs.

Hi Ted

I had a simlar experience about 10 weeks ago. Record from a good US dealer (100% feedback etc), tracked by USPS. Proof of postage, then completely disappeared. No trace since in either the States or over here. Ran out of Paypal's time-limit to claim back, lost £55. That's the first time it's ever happened in over 600 US purchases, but it still binds.

Interested in the other contributor being robbed blind by HM Revenue. I've had this 3 times, and it's cost me a small fortune. The issue is US dealers insisting on secure shipping with insurance, so they have to quote the full value of the record on the customs slip. If the customs spot it you get charged import duty and VAT, plus, and this is the real shitter, a holding charge while you pay. So you get charged for something that's not your fault and you can do nothing about. Wherever possible I NEVER go for secure shipping, and have even asked dealers to put $5 or whatever on the slip irrespective. I've never had such a record go missing, and it saves a mint.

All the best

Ted, as I said on Saturday, I'm pretty sure it's 45 days, but double check.

If so, open a dispute on the 43rd day, which then allows something like 2 weeks for the matter to be resolved.

Let the seller know this before doing so, as a courtesy, cus it seems as though he/she has sent the parcel.

Hopefully, the record will arrive before the end of the 2 weeks, otherwise you will have to escalate the dispute to a claim.

Only ever had this problem buying latin stuff from countries such as Chile/Argentina/Mexico, where shipping can take up to 6weeks+ for some reason.......which can sometimes go over paypals 45 days deadline.

Made the mistake of not opening the dispute once as the seller assured me it would arrive a few days later and got fcuked over, so I always open the dispute after 43 days now.
