I sold all my records in mid nineties (about 400 or so) due to divorce, they included many boots like Tomangoes, Coasters Connie Clark etc for peanuts. Now they are fetching £30, £40 and upwards on ebay, am I missing something?

Wish I had l kept them!!

Picked up couple goodies for a few quid - not boots!

Blossoms - Thats When the Tears Start - Visually not great, but plays fine £10.50 (I know Minties go for a lot more)

Temptations - Girl (Why You Wanna Make me Blue) £6.25

Ike and Tina Turner - River Deep Mountain High Demo £16.00 ( not sure if I paid a bit too much, but it was almost mint and I love it anyway)

Mary Wells - My Guy £0.99 in excellent condition

So goodies can still be found - piccies below - I am happy anyway!

I dont understand why the 70s boots should go for anything more than 10 quid max - In this day & age when you can get the tune on cd or listen on youtube or even download most of them that anyone would pay a ridiculous amount for a boot unless they are a DJ who cannot afford originals but wants his 15 minutes of fame and try to fool people. Thats the only reason I can think of unless the collector is agenuine I want to collect a particular boot label like OTTP or Soul sounds etc.

Yep it seems strange. I agree Soul Sounds are now collectable and speaking of OTTP, i picked up this lot below for a total of £3 - all MINT

OOTP43 RIGHTEOUS BROTHERS BAND 'RAT RACE/GREEN ONIONS'

OOTP46 TONY CLARKE 'LANDSLIDE/YOU MAKE ME A VIP'

OOTP47 THE PERSIONETTES 'CALL ON ME/IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY'

OOTP51 SANDY WYNNS 'THE TOUCH OF VENUS/A LOVERS QUARREL'

OOTP52 SHIRELLES 'MARCH YOULL BE SORRY/EVERYBODYS GOIN MAD

Sold mine over the last few year and always keep an eye on this market, whats funny is that while some particular records always seem to fetch money but others dont sell at all.

It seems like the ones on lookalike labels sell better but not always, a good example I saw recently was a Detroit Soul clearly described as not original went for £122

Try selling something like Terrible Tom though and you'd be lucky to get £3 for it!

Strange!!

I agree we all bought boots, just suprised at prices, especially when used copies of the old UK releases seem to for less, e.g Yvonne Baker on London for £20, the boot goes for more. Maybe i am getting old!

on a slightly different tack.......what typical quantities of each title were pressed up in the 70ts.......say by Selectadisc/ Colin Bee?........(or did they just stock them)
