Guest Posted October 19, 2005 Posted October 19, 2005 (edited) Both sides here are real nice, but I prefer the flip of the picture "Happy Man" originally 60's soul from a classy act. Ska tune with incredibly soulful vocals. hard to find. The rest of these I bought from a elder Guyanese lady (said she was a musician and sang on a couple fo these) and are all 60's things I've never seen before. Killer stuff in here: I have a feeling the 3 45's I got from the label (001, 002 and 003) are the only issues on the label. Incredible soul track. Killer funky soul track. think the "Boys Across the Water" is in referenece to Guyana's close visual proximity to the West Indian islands (and probably why their records are lways found within that context) Again, killer funky soul track - leaning more to the funky side.No comparison to the rather sappy LP's he made later in his career. One of his earliest singles, if not he first. More a folk soul sound, with goregoues female/male trade off vocals. Funky country soul currently making the rounds. soufriere1@yahoo.com Kevin in Canada. Edited October 19, 2005 by soufriere1
