Guest Nick Harrison Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 As no book guide price or listed footprint of value can be sourced, this is a sincere request for a concise asking price. Thanks in response Soul Sourcers,
Glynthornhill Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Very very rare Nick - got mine direct from label owner - he said at that time of release he had only done a limited run of less than 300 . Never sold mine sounds uncanilly like Frankie Beverley in parts IMHO. when I rang his answerphone he had the I Got This Feelin side on his phone....
Steve G Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 SOUL BOWL had most of the copies - Lord only knows where they are now.....

Steve Plumb Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 If you remember, I dug this out a couple of years ago to play especially for you Nick! I'd forgotten how great it sounded, as i hadn't played it for 15 years or so, so thank you for that! I had no idea it was worth much to be honest but the good folks above seem to think it's a toughie, so who am I to argue Top sound mate - thanks again Cheers Steve

Russ Vickers Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Nothing special at all - Just a below average boogie tune, love JJ voice, but over synthed like most of its genre.......dont think we would be discussing this if it wasnt perceived to be rare. Best Russ

Russ Vickers Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Craig Moerer has 4 in stock at $30 a piece as of 30 secs ago. I think that is a fair price, I thought we might be talking £££££'s......still not really for me though. Best Russ
Guest Nick Harrison Posted June 2, 2011 Posted June 2, 2011 Thanks guys - looks like this one's going back on the shelf for another 20 plus years, if ones to see any financial return. If anything it's been a good sales exercise for Mr Moerer. Thanks for the nudge with the Soul People Show this sunday Steve, will be listening out.

Best Russ Russ ...it sounds better than the one they just released on the back of the re-issue of his Shirley biggie " are you gonna leave me " I personally think it's an infectious little number.........not a big room dancer granted ,but stick it on in a nice modern room and people can't help "moovin to the groove"
Hammersoul Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 SOUL BOWL had most of the copies - Lord only knows where they are now..... Well one of em seems to have ended up in my record box . Think i got mine for around a tenner years ago off a mate...Always like Jesse`s voice, can do no wrong in my eyes. Think it will sound great on the radio Steve,i`m afraid i`m gonna try and sneak off to record fair in the morning so will try and hear the podcast in the evening .
Guest Nick Harrison Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 I personally think it's an infectious little number.........not a big room dancer granted ,but stick it on in a nice modern room and people can't help "moovin to the groove" Thanks for that Nev , purchased mine as a new and recent release by soul bowl in 1986 I think ? played by selected jocks in the modern rooms around this date. As for a big room dancer - Pat Brady played this for a while in the main room at TOTW - Stafford. Thats the last time I heard it out, until Steve Plumb kindly re introduced it. I would agree with Glynn, cause JJ - had so many other outputings on many different little labels. Which made this release the hardest to aquire. And on the strength of the above I have ordered a second copy. Thanks.
Guest Nick Harrison Posted June 7, 2011 Posted June 7, 2011 Not a boogie track at all So agree Simon - I find the above term a true mis - interperation, so inappropriate and down right vulgar. Isn't it comforting we still both remain part of a small desired "defined collective nerd herd". . Nick .
